If you could ask for anything this Christmas, what would it be?

Let me share a short story from one of the parish priest here in Pardo.

β€œOnce upon a snowy Christmas eve, there lived a little boy named Louie who used to live in a little village. Like most kids, Louie looked forward to Santa Claus's coming, thinking about his favorite marvel and tiny truck toys.

Louie made the decision one day to write Santa a letter listing all the toys he wanted for Christmas. His best friend-Geray looked at him silently as he wrote down his wishes. She asked him, "Louie, do you think Christmas is only about presents?"
And Louie said Yes! because during my early years, I overheard my mother asking for an extravagant gifts and money while using me as a way to make requests from my godparents. I observed her requesting luxurious presents. And I think that godparents should give anything I want and that they are obliged to give presents at any occasions where I am involved. It became apparent that my role as a baby was sometimes utilized as a strategy in her efforts to solicit generous gestures from godparents.”

This is a reminder to all of us that Christmas isn’t a shopping list contest. It’s not about turning godparents into gift vending machines. However, the essence of christmas is more than just giving materialistic things. It’s about love, kindness, spending time with our loved ones, and being grateful for what we have.

Merry Merry Christmas!
