Alright, friends, it's time for another Smash or Dash tiebreaker - our 6th this season! Last Smash or Dash, Lister and I teed up some oddball match-ups featuring characters deeply influential to our childhoods. It's a really good episode with a lot of old memories (many of which we share for the first time) and might help to inform your decision here. But the crux of it all is - we need votes!

We came to a conclusion with our first matchup, but we were torn on whether a classic RuneScaper (The Adventurer) or Squall Leonhart should win their bout.

The Adventurer brings anything and everything at their disposal in OG RuneScape - particularly runes, but also a broad swath of magic including more unusual choices like necromancy, not to mention the potential to light their foes up with the same tinderbox they use for dinner! 🔥

Squall represents an oft-overlooked area of the Final Fantasy universe, wielding a gun...blade! Hailing from an RPG himself, he comes with a barrage of different magic, weaponry, and combo moves that have become iconic to his character and the Final Fantasy brand at large. Word is he can crush u with his heels...👠

At Zanty Claws' behest, we wish you the most special of holiday seasons! And, may your new year bring you all of the joy and zest that you can shake a Nerf axe at.

It's been a fun past calendar year for Super Cast Bros. We wrapped up Season 2 in a big way with a Tournament of Champions that actually functioned smoothly thanks to our pal, Moo, coming in as our tiebreaker. Before that, Aang and Steven Universe joined us as 4th Party characters we had workshopped for Smashtopia, before coincidentally being confirmed for a couple of Smash clones themselves! And who could forget our nearly 5 HOUR Roster Game!? Whew. Somedays, we wish we could!

Season 3 has brought us such joy, so far. From the heartening return of dearest Trevor Fischer in our Star Fox-flavored kickoff, to epic Smash or Dash battles like Spyro vs. Amaterasu and Smashtopias ranging from Poochy to Medusa, this might be the most fun we've had with our 'cast yet. Thanks for joining us along the way!

For our latest, Lister and I tackle an On Topic episode with "The Future of Classic Mode." Now that Ultimate is finally over, where might the next Smash take us? That's a question we're going to keep considering for years to come, until we're finally graced with the majesty of a Smash 6 reveal.

Whether it's 12 or 1,200 of you who are listening, we're going to keep on doing this. It's been three seasons of Super Cast Bros. so far, but we've been doing this ever since we met one another in 2007 regardless. Thanks to those of you who have enjoyed us and the ride so far!
..and, trust us, the holiday train is rolling for a little while longer with a special Smashtopia comin' up...

Season 3 of Super Cast Bros. starts now! We're once again joined by our ol' pal, Trevor, as we dive into one of our favorite franchises—Star Fox—and how we might get it back on track with the sequel it deserves. It's a fun, loose conversation with lots of laughs and all of your favorite anthropomorphic space animal mercenaries, so if you're into that... Well, check it out!

We're coming at ya with a few new tricks up our sleeves, including a sweet new visual presentation courtesy of Lister Potter III and some things new to talk about at the top of each of our episode archetypes... What did you think of this year's E3? Yeah... us too. Nevertheless, Lister and I had a heck of a time talking impressions on some of our favorite reveals, followed up by a deep dive into our thoughts on the latest DLC fighter introduced to Smash, Tekken's Kazuya!

In our latest Smashtopia episode, Lister and I are joined by our good old pal, Eric. Therein, we work out a moveset for a fan favorite Fire Emblem character, Lyn! This was a fun one, and a great, nostalgic look back for me, personally, on the first title I'd ever played in my favorite game series.

Also of note is my applying and wearing a face mask for roughly the first 25 minutes of the show. Gotta stay beautiful!

A Wiki that the two of us had put together in tribute to our times together on SSB Mercurious almost 15 years ago, we are still actively releasing detailed movesets, stages, and more on Smashtopia. Woof! Of course it would be over a month since I've last posted in this room. Woops. :5 The episodes have kept on comin', though, so for those of you not yet in the know, here's what we've got...

In our first new episode, Kellyjelly (who made our awesome opening jingle) joins us for a battle royale of the Smash or Dash variety! The four characters that we toss into the fray will be familiar to you if you've been keeping up with Kelly's offerings to the Smashtopia wiki, as he's already workshopped movesets for each of them and had them published on the site: it's Portal's Chell, No More Heroes' Travis Touchdown, Rhythm Thief's Phantom R, and characters representing the titular Metal Slug! Which two rise above?

In the next, it's Eric's (Flamezone's) turn to return to the SCB table to discuss Amiibos & Smash. This episode offers some fun, loose discussion on amiibo figurines and their presence in the Super Smash Bros. series and beyond. Let's just say that our hopes for amiibos surmount our predictions for their future by quite a bit, too, and we talk about that some as well. :5

Hey Facebook! It's been a while, huh? Year Two of Super Cast Bros. has been in full-swing, rest assured, and Lister Potter III and I (Jonathan Frahm - Writer) have been thriving in this latest season. Our most recent episode is an On Topic where we reflect on Steve's inclusion in Ultimate, and it was a well-paced, solid conversation that I'm a little proud of.

Speaking of things to be proud of, though, Lister is embarking on a new game review series on jfrahm.com! In our 'Zantok Plays' pieces, Lister gets down into the grit of a game in a way that's all his own. It's a personal dive into video game reflection, review, and analysis that can't quite be replicated - and, of course, there's a bit of a Smash-flavored spin at the end of it all, too.

'Zantok Plays' debuts on November 8th with Lister's musings on NieR: Automata. In the meantime, you can check out this interview piece that we'd gotten done together for a better look into the "how" and "why" with this new series!

Lister Potter III's collaboration with jfrahm.com is set to expand! 15 months following the beginning of our Super Cast Bros. podcast odyssey, Lister's latest venture sees him reviewing video games in a blog format. Entitled Zantok Plays, these reviews will be produced with no set schedule in mind.....

It's time for Year Two, and Season Two, of Super Cast Bros.! To think that Zantok and I have come as far as doing this for well over a year is something inimitable. It has been a pleasure so far to talk with one of my best friends for an hour or two about one of our favorite series and pastimes every couple of weeks. In anticipation of this milestone, Zantok put together a roster image showcasing each of the characters that we've imagined for our Smashtopia episodes in the first year and season. (See below!)

Now, onward, to all that's next! We kick off our second season with some cool QOL changes for the podcast. Firstly, our pal, kellyjelly made a majestic new jingle that you'll hear at the start of every episode! You may remember Kelly from our Episode 12 of the podcast, where he guested. Secondly, and you'll notice this pretty immediately when popping on over to YouTube, we are now presenting in an audiovisual format! The entire first season was audio-only, so a natural step in evolving SCB was to move ahead with video, too. We'll still have audio-only versions on Spotify, Apple, etc., but if you watch us on YouTube, you'll get a full video presentation, too.

So, for the first episode of this inaugural new year and season of Super Cast Bros., Zantok and I actually take us OUT of Super Smash Bros. (for the most part). In our first "Out of Smash" episode, he and I get in on discussing our Pokemon memories - from the games, to the anime, to merchandise, and more.
