*ACC gains crossplay*

In another surprising move, ACC also gained console crossplay last week, offering PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S players the chance to race head-to-head for the first time.

Sadly, however, this new development won’t include PC gamers, with PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of ACC ceasing development some time ago.

*Forza Motorsport Update 3*

Forza Motorsport’s third major update dropped last week, adding the Hockenheimring - including three layouts - to Turn10 Studios’ divisive racing game reboot.

As well as several new events and bug fixes, the update also adds five new car pass vehicles, with the #23 Ruman Racing TA Chevrolet Corvette from the 2018 Trans-Am series available now.

*New circuit revealed for Rennsport*

The momentum behind Competition Company’s Rennsport continues, as the Orchard Road Street Circuit was revealed to be joining the sim’s roster. The Singaporean track’s layout is based on real-world data from the city-state and is set to be the first community-made course to feature in Rennsport.

If Orchard Road looks familiar to you, you’ve probably already seen it in Assetto Corsa - a version developed by Legion of Racers has been available since 2021. This perhaps highlights the modding potential of Rennsport in future, with Unreal Engine 5 proving attractive to modding teams.

*EA SPORTS WRC gains new rally stages*

Although beset by performance issues upon release, EA SPORTS WRC has steadily received fixes from EA and Codemasters, with a free content update released last week.

Asphalt tests from the Central European Rally dropped, adding an impressive array of high-speed Czech Republic-based stages to an already comprehensive variety of in-game rally routes - including the monstrous 32 km-long Rouské and Lukoveček tests.

*RaceRoom DTM 2023 Pack coming this week*

KW Studios’ free-to-play sim RaceRoom Racing Experience is set to gain a new DLC this week, as the DTM 2023 Pack is due to be released on the 18th of December.

Adding two new car models in the form of the Ferrari 296 GT3 and Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo II, the DTM 2023 Pack also adds new liveries for the BMW M4 GT3, Porsche 911 GT3 (992) and Mercedes-AMG GT3, mimicking the real-world DTM series.

Despite lacking the Lamborghini Huracán GT3, the release of the DTM 2023 Pack coincides with an update to RaceRoom’s tyre model, with certain tracks also receiving a graphical spruce-up.

*Assetto Corsa Competizione’s GT2 Pack DLC release date announced*

Although the recently announced Nurburgring Nordschleife DLC has rightly taken precedence for ACC fans, developer Kunos Simulazioni surprisingly revealed it was also releasing its long-awaited GT2 Pack DLC in January 2024.

Initially showcasing the Porsche 911 GT2 RS CS EVO and its accompanying 935-style variation, the GT2 Pack is also likely to add other cars from the Fanatec European GT2 Series, including examples from Audi, Mercedes-AMG, Lamborghini, Maserati, Brabham and KTM.

How popular the GT2 cars will be with ACC’s GT3-focused fanbase is another matter, however.

*F1 Sim Racing’s woes continue*

After a stuttering start to its new life under the stewardship of ESL last month, the second round of F1 Sim Racing was abruptly postponed last weekend. Many teams, drivers and media personalities reported the cancellation on social media, with early signs indicating a communication breakdown with Formula 1.

The reason for the cancellation is unconfirmed at this stage, but the continued inability to hold F1 Esports events must be a concern for those relying on its success to fund their activities.

*F1 Manager 2023 v1.10 update arrives*

F1 Manager 2023’s final major update of the year was released this week, with a heavy focus on bug fixes.

Considering developer Frontier Developments’ recent lay-off announcements - and the conclusion of the Formula 1 season - any further content and feature developments are unlikely, at least until the 2024 championship gets underway.

Expect continued performance and stability patches until then, however.
