Just took our first walk of the season around the lake. We've been blessed to be invited back to campground host for our 8th summer this year. After spending our first winter down south it's great to be back home until fall.
Wearing a shirt from Pirana Joe Porta Progresso, MX while drinking from a Margaritaville glass from Cozumel, MX and I ate lunch today at Pirate's Bar & Grill on Dauphin Island, AL. Living a very Blessed life.
Lunch at Pirates Bar & Grill has not disappointed. Gumbo and Thia Chili Shrimp are great, that's why you see a second batch of shrimp. Our server Celena was great.
It's that day..the day our win their 4th Championship in the Patrick Mahomes Era. Then on Feb 11th we'll witness them winning their 3rd Superbowl rings in the last 5 years.
We're halfway through wintering at Homestead RV Community and can't say enough about how owners Ed & Monica, along with camp hosts Jim & Patti, have made this an amazing choice for us.
We're both working remotely and love that they pick up our trash in the morning and deliver mail and packages through the day. So, there's no open mail room grab bag with your neighbors.
We've enjoyed trips to Bayou La Batre to see where Forest Gump Bubba Gump Shrimp episodes were filmed along with buying fresh shrimp off the boat. Just 15 minutes away.
Trips to Dauphin Island for great beaches and food as well as historic Fort Gaines and the Alabama Aquarium, just 20 minutes south of us.
Bellengrath Gardens offered over 3 million Christmas lights during their Christmas walking tour, just 15 minutes away.
We travel 15 minutes to Tillman Corners, where we find Walmart, Win Dixie, Aldi's, Lowe's, Tractor Supply, 3 RV dealerships, and about 20 different restaurants all in a 1 mile area.
Ten more minutes past Tillman Corners and your right in the heart of Mobile by way of I-10. Here, you'll find more entertainment and adventure than I can detail here.
More local, it's 1 mile to Bailey's Corner and Greer's with a fully stocked grocery store, and in building pharmacy where we're able to have prescriptions from home filled, plus an Ace hardware store all in the same building. They also sell gas there, but not diesel. Dollar General is across the street, and we have 3 great restaurants within 4 miles.
They did it right, putting Community in the name because we've made so many new friends in the time we've been here. Many of us are dog owners, and this park is very pet friendly. With a large fenced dog park that includes shaded benches for the humans as well as a dog washing station right in the dog park.
They have had both mobile wash and wax services as well as mobile black tank wash services available for a fee in the park during our stay.
Saving the best for last. After speaking with owner Ed, permits are done, and the new pool is going in the spring of 2024 as well as a new tree planting project to begin throughout the park this year.
I didn't write much about the state of the art reservation system or available private hot tub rentals on your site, but you can read about those elsewhere.
As a couple working full-time remotely, we would 💯 recommend this park as the perfect centrally located hub for exploring and enjoying the Mobile and Dauphin Island Peninsula area.
We're down in Theodore Alabama just south of Mobile near the coast for the winter and I just had Mr. Tremaine Bumpers of Bumper to Bumper Detailing & Spa give the girl a good bath and wax job. Great work and very reasonable if you're ever in the area.

We had such a great time during our day trip to Cave Vineyard during our family vacation to Perryville RV Resort this week. Just a relaxing race day back at our home campground today as we're sitting through the 5th rain storm in as many days. Hope ya'll had a great weekend. Tomorrow it's back to work for both of us. Best Vineyard tour ever...Today we visited Cave Vineyard in St. Genevieve, MO and Debbie did an amazing job of explaining the family history of the property and the Vineyard. We sampled a variety of wines but where also able to sample their own Bourbon's and Whiskey's, you read that right, and yes, all were good enough for me to add to my collection.
After our visit with Debbie, it was off with a basket filled with a chilled bottle, bescoti's, crackers & cheese, and of course some dark chocolate as we ventured down the 1/4 mile paved path to enjoy our bounty in the Live Cave.
They make a point of sharing that this is a living cave and you'll be experiencing a wine experience few have ever encountered.

Fun day at the campground. Started 2 racks of ribs on the smoker early, then eggs, bacon, and pancakes to start the day. Then it's everyone outside for fresh air and games. With Pam Kenel Patrick
Travel day...We've left our host site for the first time in 4 months. Short week, but we got a cabin for the kids and grandkids so Pam gets her grandma time and she's already pointed out that she's not responsible for any other sites until we return home Friday. See how well Grover and Niles are on travel days.

Our RV makeover to gain more space and a better work life balance for Full-time living is finished. It began with a temporary desk mounted over the second sleeper sofa. Now all the original bulky furniture is gone and we have lightweight swivel recliners in the living room and a permanent office desk for Pam in the original bunkhouse room. We're loving the Full-time RV lifestyle and looking forward to spending our first winter somewhere other than in the Iowa snow. This is my first informal video as we are pretty much set up to spend the next 7 months living in the RV before heading south for our first winter out of Iowa. I neglected to mention that we've also installed a T-mobile Home internet system that is delivering over 110 mps speed out here. So we've canceled Dish and can stream on all TVs as well as Pam's remote work. Sorry for the poor video quality. I promise to improve with some practice. Thanks for watching.
