Okay, I've played Pokémon Scarlet for about 7 hours, only one gym and titan done so far.
Full review is coming soon, but here are my initial thoughts:
THE GOOD:
Open world is very addictive and easy to get sucked into.
Pokemon designs & names are on point. I love them.
Music is a bop as always.
They finally figured out how to make the catching tutorial not suck.
Fantastic NewSnap-esque body textures for the Pokémon!
Seemless battles that blend with the overworld instead of being completely seperate. Great for immersion.
Koraidon is "La creatura" and I love this sandwich-loving lizard bike dog.
THE BAD:
Still no voice acting or even short voice lines for important human characters, yet they had the audacity to put an Ed Sheeran song in the end credits (which I'm still very far from).
Many physical attacks still look awful and don't make visual contact (they had it right in PLA, and I have no idea why they didn't just import this).
Stats still drop/increase individually instead of all at once (this makes battles painfully slow).
Player characters have little-to-no drip.
Environmental graphics are pretty bad for a game released in 2022.
THE GAME IS BUGGY AS HELL AND RUNS LIKE CRAP (this can be fixed with a patch, and they had better patch it). It's almost as if this game wasn't tested by a QA team...
