As these cars get higher in mileage, this is one of the things that can fail and cause driveability issues. It's pretty easy to diagnose and replace if you get vanos related codes. Hope this helps 👍🏾

My take: I have yet to see a car that benefits from it, but several that struggled to even get up to operating temp (especially in this time if year). Keep it off unless you have temps that indicate it's needed, and even then, I recommend upgraded cooling parts instead of stopping your car from running at operating temperature. I'm open to hearing opposing thoughts 😬
