Several years ago, I was working out
twice a day... most days.
And I wasn't losing weight!!
I'd go to the gym and do cardio
🏃‍♀️ for 60-90 minutes...
Then weights in the afternoon.
🌞 My morning workout was
usually very early...
When I was done, the grocery
store would be opening...
I got into a habit of going
to the grocery after my workout...
And I'd buy a package of
🍩 donut holes...
And a carton of foo foo sugary coffee...
🗓️ I didn't do it every day...
But for a while, it happened more
than it didn't!!
Hmmm...
🤔 Wonder why I wasn't losing any weight!!
I was doing everything right...
Except eating all that dang sugar
“once in a while” 🙄
We all have cognitive dissonance sometimes...
Where we don't see something obvious,
🙈 Until we do see it!!

Several months ago, I looked in the mirror
👀 Like, REALLY LOOKED
⏳ For the first time in a while
Because I suddenly realized
😱 I didn't recognize myself.
“Who is this person?”
I asked myself.
That woman in the mirror...
😢 She looks ROUND
I used to be thin...
Fit...
Hot, even!
SIGH 🥺
The scale showed
⚖️⚖️⚖️ I weighed 15 pounds more
Than I had just a while ago
And even then,
I wanted to be down 10-20 pounds!
👉 I had gone unconscious...
Not paying attention...
Blaming it on aging...
Menopause coming on...
👉 When it was actually unhealthy habits
That crept into my life!
Time to get real 💯
15 MORE pounds?!
Nope. This is not OK.
I HAVE to do SOMETHING.
So, I did.
I knew what to do.
I used to be super fit...
super healthy...
I was even a fitness trainer years ago!
👉 I can turn this around.
And I did... I am.
It isn't anything extreme.
I've dropped that extra 15 pounds
and am chipping away at the rest.
