We’re excited to announce our second release in our reissue series: Playback by Gaza, originally released on Fact Records in 2002.

Gaza, formed in 1997 by Alon Ovnat and Yayehe S. Mehari, emerged from the vibrant Electronic Front Collective. Their unique sound blends hip-hop, dub, IDM, and electro, creating a captivating fusion that stands out in the electronic music scene.

Playback, first released by Israel's pioneering DIY label Fact Records, was crafted at a time when electronic music thrived in living rooms. The album showcases a dynamic range of tracks, from the energetic "Speedy Jam" to the glitchy "Plastic Ticks," the groovy "Visetor," and the uplifting "U&I."

This reissue is a tribute to DJ Yayehe, who sadly passed away in 2021. We are dedicated to preserving his legacy by reissuing all his works, including unreleased material.

We have been quite for a while, but its time for one more release in the GOJ series, Rocky B- Footsteps in the Sand- a mayhem of heavy bass lines and distorted percussion.

Footsteps in the Sand was written in Jerusalem Between 2003-2012 , it has the roots of the Tropikal Camel sound. The sound is dense ,dystopian , cuts through the air like rapid fire, shattering the silence.

This is a journey into a rotten city, on the edge of the desert , a nest of chaos and conflict , a trail of shattered glass and the smell of gunpowder.

We are super excited to present R2-EDI2 - 03, our free download series inspired from the robot that bips and has a sensitive heart.

The first track Cité désert is created by a new member of the Tribak family - John Levi'.
A prodigy producer hailing from Geneva, active in the vibrant rave scene of the city, a talented Dj that has an eclectic taste and a deep love to cutting edge sounds. As a producer he melts metallic percussion with organic sounds. The track is the result of his work with refugees from the middle east, as a son of immigrants himself, digging into the music of the middle east and North Africa. John will release his debut EP in the following months, stay updated!
The second track is a secret remix of our label boss Tropikal Camel to the cosmic disco producer hailing from Bologna - FRANK AGRARIO . During the work on the remix that was released in Tom Tom Disco , another version of the original was born. The remix originated from a vocal sample of Rai tape found in a north African supermarket in Brussels , merging that with an old Korg drum machine full of rave sounds.

Through 12 was founded by Nevo Svorai, a veteran musician active in the underground scene of Jerusalem since the mid 80's. He is known for bands like Israel & Maatz.
After more then 20 years of being part of Israel , he formed Through 12 , a project that is based on the deformed lyrics of the Chinese philosopher and poet Laozi. The band's creative process is conducting long jams, creating a unique sound that is hazy, psychedelic, and mysterious.

Hello world!

We are back to track! This time we release special album- GOJ 04 Through 12 -The way. This album was made by one of the veterans of the Jerusalem scene, a poet and musician that we love and appreciate- Nvo Svorai.

Nvo is a local legend active since the early 80´s in bands like Israel and Maatz, his approach to music is brave and improvised , his perspective of music is as a experience that is made moment to moment , his new project Through 12 is assembling local veterans to a ritual like jams, that was recorded during 2018.

This album has a rather strange story in which two versions of the same album was made in the mixing process, one which consists of the session recorded live, and the second version is the one we release- The Way, was produced by Tropikal Camel including different takes and dub versions.

Tribak does not stop!
We are proud to present the second chapter in our free Dl series
R2​​-​​EDI2, named after our favorite beeping robot.

This is our place to fuse bass and drum into old classics and forgotten jewels, we will bounce and deliver till your b***y will shiver.

In this one we have a triple jam, three Dabke tracks, that were dug from the ocean floor, edited by our label boss Tropikal Camel.
It is a music genre and a dance form that is common in Syria, Lebanon, Palestine, Iraq, and Jordan known as wedding music, but also music with a message, sometimes with national texts, in many cases about love, with a lot of humor.

The main instrument is the Mijwiz, a flute that is producing a high sound, this instrument was replaced in modern times by digital synthesizers and drum machines, turning it into a rave type music.
The camel in the first remix is mixing south African rhythms with the middle eastern vibe , the second is taking the Dabke to the electronic realm, and the last one is a Dj tool- use with responsibility.

we are super exited to present our new release GOJ03- Rocky B-Edge of the Sky is available on a digital format and soon on tape (pre order will begin soon) .

Rocky B aka Tropikal Camel, is a visionary musician, as an producer and MC he was one of the pioneers of the Jerusalem avant garde scene. His music was reviewed in the Guardian, The Wire, Trax to name a few. He had played live in legendary festivals such as NYEGE NYEGE , Fusion festival, and Trans Musicales to name a few.

This album was recorded in 2010 in Jerusalem, as a collector he used to find rare field recordings from all over the middle east, then re-arrange them to meditative tracks . The EP was performed twice as audio visual shows accompanied by a desktop computer and a DVD player, later on -it was shelved, then revived in 2022 in Berlin.

This is a journey into the desert, into the rituals long forgotten, a bridge to redemption, the re-born spirit has awakened , slow steps, in balance , on the edge of the sky.

We are back on track! We promised a monthly release but health issues forced us to stay in bed and wait for the right moment! And the moment is now!
We are super excited to release the first track-Nuba- from GOJ03- Rocky B Edge of the Sky, a soundtrack of an imaginary trance ceremony.
Rocky B is our label boss, an octopus that has his hands in many collectives such as Arabstazy, and featured in many labels and festivals. This Specific release is one of step stones of Tropikal Camel, it was re-mastered in Berlin , but it began on a desktop computer in an apartment in Jerusalem.
This is the first track, a bassy vibes and bouncy bassline creates a mystic atmosphere, with the unique groove of the camel.
In a few days we will release the full EP, the tapes will be delayed because our tape label got broken.
So follow us on Bandcamp, so you can listen to new tracks! Now there will be a rain of new releases in the middle of this hot summer.

We are super exited to broaden our spectrum, and make the Tribak universe broader, after the GOJ series, that we released two albums, we begin our free download series R2-EDI2, a colorful place, with a space to move the feet , and loose the muscles!

R2-EDI2 - a series of free download edited\remixes\ unreleased tracks, Each part will include a double track single, our aim is to revive old tracks that were forgotten and bring them straight to your ears.

The first edit is by Tropikal Camel our label boss , is a sexy edit for a Bubblegum disco classic - Letta Mbulu – Nomalizo- in a instrumental version that taking the south of Africa to a visit in the north of the continent .
The second edit by Issmmah , the due featuring our camel and Dj Badre , they are reviving the king of Arabic Tarab George Wassouf in a funky percussive style. This edit was released in two parts- one part the wave version in our friends at HARD FIST, and the second vocal edit in Soundcloud -but it was no available for download- now you can !

We promised a release every month and we are here to keep! We are super proud to present our second release in the GOJ series: God's Garden by Jerusalem's underground legend - Joselito!
After more than ten years that he had not released an album, we managed to get our hands on this wonderful piece, which was recorded in a few hazy nights , with one synth & a drum machine.
It is a concept album that is dedicated to Jerusalem, Joselito is describing a place of no rest, where violence, rage & religion are gathered in a wild mix.

Joselito has been active for the last 30 years, as a poet he released 14 (!) independent books, each book with a special design. He is a multidisciplinary artist- he created video art, installations & curated events.

Challenging any rules of poetry, visual arts or music, he can be described as an outsider artist, one that is creating his own absurd universe.

We were born not long ago- but today we are excited to release our second digital pre-order- GOJ02!

God's Garden album is a bedroom synth trip made by the Jerusalem underground hero Joselito .

It's dedicated to the holy city, with sharp humor he is describing a place that has no rest, where violence, rage & religion are gathered in a wild mix.

With a small set up of a drum machine, synth, adding guitars & vocals in Hebrew and English, he created a raw electronic sound.

The texts are mixing Joselito's unique language , a mix of dark jokes, sorrel situations, and sharp distinctions.

It's one that you don't want to miss- the Daniel Johnston of Jerusalem singing in God's Garden.

We Wish to present the founder of Shabab Al Quds, Joselito, a multidisciplinary artist that has been creating video art, music and poetry for 30 years- his world is an absurd theatre , mixed with dark humor & surrealistic metaphors.

His interest in Arabic music began when he found a CD documenting the music of Yemeni Jews, it took him on a journey to his roots. This music influenced his first album Floors , it was released in 2015 by a small label named Agit Pop- melting percussions from a Arabic wedding synthesizer, atmospheric pads & dark wave melodies, he created his unique sound stamp.

As a poet he released 14 (!) poetry books , all self made, with distinctive visuals, he also produced & curated numerus events.

He is an outsider artist, an underground Jerusalem legend , we are super proud to have his music & his spirit with us in Tribak Records! Soon we will release Joselito's solo album! Stay tuned!

Tribak records is proud to present its first release- a rare jewel from the Jerusalem underground scene- Shabab Al Quds ( the teenagers of Jerusalem in Arabic).

The project was founded, written and composed by Joselito- a poet & multidisciplinary artist, who has been active for 30 years in the holy city´s underground scene . Later on when Alon Ovant joined
( Mujahideen, Andarta), another member was Tal Meiri on vocals . The band was active between 2003-2005, playing few live concerts in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv.

Shabab had a unique sound signature- a mix between distorted Arabic percussions, dark wave guitars, dirty synth drones & apocalyptic texts.

During 2004 they contacted Rocky B (aka Tropikal Camel) , offered him to produce those tracks to an album, a demo version was made , but because of tensions inside the project- it was shelved.

During 2020, Rocky offered to release these demos, as a documentation, but the members decided to gather, re-record the tracks , using the instrumentals that were made almost 20 years before , then the tracks were re-produced in Berlin , keeping the original vibe & adding an extra spice .

The lyrics are poetic streams of conscience that describe sorrel scenes, in 3000 , is written from a perspective of a old man looking at the world burning, in Camera there is a lynch style scene, and in filth there is a post apocalyptic prophecy.

This EP is a rare glimpse to a scene that is born in the dark alleys of the holy city- like the metallic sound of ghosts walking on old stones.
