Hey guys! Good day! we will be making another favorite among filipino meriendas! It’s kakanin (Inangit) that is probably the easiest to make! And of course it’s undoubtedly good!

This kakanin is rich with coconut milk that gives it a nice flavor that can be eaten on its own, or with a dip of sugar and ripe mangoes.

Ingredients;

Malagkit Rice or Glutinous Rice 3 and 1/4 kilograms
1 Big Coconut with 3 cups of water
Salt 1 and 1/2 Tablespoon
Mango (Garnish)

Procedure;

In a basin, add about 3 and 1/4 kilograms of rice na malagkit, we will be using malagkit for this recipe, as this is used in almost or in all kakanin recipes.

We will just be washing it to get rid of dirts and rice bugs.

We’ll also need one large coconut, and this is the amount of milk needed from it.

Now we will just prepare the gathered banana leaf,that we will be using in cooking inangit,and we’ll also be using this in serving.

We will cut the giant leaf in half, and we’ll be cutting three parts or more from the half part. You can also adjust this, but we’ll be using it like tiny plates later.

In a wok,just pour the coconut milk. Add one tablespoon and a half of salt too, to bring out and balance the flavor.

We’ll just let it sit and heat up until it forms a curd-like texture, and until it thickens.

If it thickens, we’ll be adding now, the malagkit rice, or glutinous rice, and we’ll be mixing them together.

We’ll be pouring just a tiny amount of water.This is done to lessen the thickness.

We’ll mix it continuously and just wait for it to get a little thicker and stickier.

After that, we will be covering it with banana leaf.

We’ll let it steam for a little bit, and we’ll just scoop it all out and transfer it in a basin.

But be sure to put the banana leaf first before putting the rice mixture in the basin. The banana leaf serves as a baking sheet.

We will be moving the mixture into the basin, so that we will be transferring it in another small wok.

We’’ll transfer it in a small wok,so that the whole parts of the inangit will be cooked evenly and completely.

Let’s just steam it for about 15 mins.

Now for the last part, we’ll just flip it onto another side and leave it steaming for about 15 mins.

Carrots 5 medium
Celery 1 bundle
Onion 2 bulbs
Garlic 6 cloves
1 egg
Cornstarch 2 tbsp.
Pepper 1 tsp.
Oyster sauce 1 tbsp.
Salt 1 tsp.
Vetcin 1 tsp.
Lumpia wrapper 1 kilogram

Sauce
Vinegar 1/2 cup
Sugar 1/2 cup
Salt 1/2 tsp.
Water 1 cup
Onion 1 bulb
Cucumber 1 small
Chili 2 pieces
Pepper 1/2 tsp.

Ground Pork 500 grams and Beef 500 grams
Hotdog 12 pieces
Garlic 5 Cloves

Ingredients;

Marinated;

Beef Sirloin 355 grams
Soy Sauce 3 & 1/2 tablespoon
Oyster Sauce 3 & 1/2 tablespoon
Sugar 3 & 1/2 teaspoon
Garlic 3 & 1/2 teaspoon
Pepper to taste

Noodles Sauce;

Soy Sauce 6 & 1/2 tablespoon
Sesame Oil 6 & 1/2 tablespoon
Sugar 3 & 1/2 Tablespoon
Garlic 3 teaspoon
Pepper to taste

Vegetable;

Onion 2 bulb
Carrot 1 large
Bell pepper 2 medium
Spring Onion 1 bundle
Spinach 1 bundle

Korean Glass Noodles 500 grams
