: 15 April 2022 | Yesterday night, while most of us slept in our cozy beds, the Adiviasis of Philobari (Tinsukia) were bitten by heavy rain and hail storm. To what was just for 10-15 minutes, everything they had built was brought to the ground by the heavy rain and hail storm.

It was reported, after the storm no one slept, as the roof over the head was blown off, and the rain had washed every warm clothes. Everyone was seen standing outdoors, be it pregnant women, women with new born babies, kids, and old ones. They stood helpless and confused.

"WE HAVE LOST EVERYTHING", said the lady in the frame.

| Two-day training seminar on "JAMEEN" (land) organized by , NGO based at Guwahati 5-6 Oct, 2021. About 105 participants from various parts of Assam joined the interactive sessions.

"Jameen is a training initiative by Injot Trust to inform our present and future Adivasi community leaders about the entire spectrum of Land Matters - laws, rationale, procedures and rights. The Adivasi community has been a victim of land alienation for centuries now. However, at present many of the issues continue to remain unresolved due to a lack of information and accurate understanding of procedures and the law. We believe that if our community leaders are empowered with that information, there is a higher chance that the less aware Adivasi person will benefit tremendously from this, like a ripple effect."

Mr. Nazrul Islam IAS (Retd.), a consultant with the Govt. of Assam on Land Matters took the participants on the rationale of Land Records, vocabulary of Land Matters, and gave a deep understanding of the usage of Basundhara Portal and Dharitree App to procure land documents.

Mr. Anupchand Minj - lawyer and RTI Activist, took a session on RTI Act 2005, and how to use it for land matters.

Mr. Shammi J Tigga - Regional Labour Commissioner, Govt. of India to facilitate a session on Labour Laws and E-shram.

Dr. J B Ekka IAS - Principal Secretary, Panchayat & Rural Development Dept., Labour Welfare Dept. and Tea Tribes Welfare Dept., Govt. of Assam to deal on Universal Schemes.

| According to the Ipsos Global Trustworthiness Index 2021, Urban Indians trust the armed forces (64%) and scientists (64%) the most. Followed by teachers (61%) and doctors (58%).Interestingly, two years ago when we did the survey, the armed forces came up tops and this year too they have retained the pole position, though tied in with scientists.

When we look at the most trustworthy list of global citizens, doctors (64%) emerged at the top on the Global Trustworthiness Index 2021, followed by scientists (61%) and teachers (55%).

“The armed forces are trusted and revered by Indians as their whole aura and work is around sacrifice and service before self; defined by discipline and dedication in their contribution to the nation as they protect our frontiers. Likewise, scientists too have been corona warriors, working overtime to find appropriate vaccines to offset the resilient coronavirus; their contribution is being silently hailed, by Indians, putting scientists at par with armed forces. Teachers and doctors, who too stepped up during the pandemic are placed 3rd and 4th in the trustworthiness index,” says Amit Adarkar, CEO, Ipsos India. (Source: Ipsos)

| OneWeb (Low Earth Orbit -LEO, satellite communications company) backed by India- based Bharati Enterprise launched 36 satellites.

"Once deployed, the OneWeb constellation will enable user terminals that are capable of offering 3G, LTE, 5G and Wi-Fi coverage, providing high-speed access globally - by air, sea and land," Arianespace said.

| NTA (National Testing Agency) announced the Joint Entrace Examination (JEE) Advanced results 2021 on Friday. Mridul Agarwal of IIT Delhi scored top rank by obtaining 348 marks out of 360 marks.

A total of 41, 862 candidates have qualified themselves in JEE Advanced 2021, the official statement of organising IIT. About 141,699 appeared the exam of 151,193 registration for JEE Advanced 2021.

| INJOT TRUST flagged off its culminating phase of 'Sanghe Urab' Mentorship Program for the Adivasi Youth of Assam, in Kaziranga, Kohora on 13th Oct, 2021. The term "Sanghe Urab" means ‘Let’s Fly Together’ in Sadri language – the lingua franca of Adivasis in Assam.

The program is based on the following objectives-Self Awareness and Emotional Intelligence, Problem Solving, Leadership, Social Justice, and Professional Development.

based at Guwahati (Assam, India) a non-profit organization founded in August 2020, by Anjali Tirkey(Director): a photo essayist, feature writer, and philanthropist. The organization focuses on working in the field of community development, livelihood, education, and advocacy of human rights for the Adivasi community of Assam.

About 400 youth from various parts of the world traveled to Milan for the Youth summit.
