| Two-day training seminar on "JAMEEN" (land) organized by , NGO based at Guwahati 5-6 Oct, 2021. About 105 participants from various parts of Assam joined the interactive sessions.
"Jameen is a training initiative by Injot Trust to inform our present and future Adivasi community leaders about the entire spectrum of Land Matters - laws, rationale, procedures and rights. The Adivasi community has been a victim of land alienation for centuries now. However, at present many of the issues continue to remain unresolved due to a lack of information and accurate understanding of procedures and the law. We believe that if our community leaders are empowered with that information, there is a higher chance that the less aware Adivasi person will benefit tremendously from this, like a ripple effect."
Mr. Nazrul Islam IAS (Retd.), a consultant with the Govt. of Assam on Land Matters took the participants on the rationale of Land Records, vocabulary of Land Matters, and gave a deep understanding of the usage of Basundhara Portal and Dharitree App to procure land documents.
Mr. Anupchand Minj - lawyer and RTI Activist, took a session on RTI Act 2005, and how to use it for land matters.
Mr. Shammi J Tigga - Regional Labour Commissioner, Govt. of India to facilitate a session on Labour Laws and E-shram.
Dr. J B Ekka IAS - Principal Secretary, Panchayat & Rural Development Dept., Labour Welfare Dept. and Tea Tribes Welfare Dept., Govt. of Assam to deal on Universal Schemes.
