āYou are smart,
You are kind,
You are brave, āØYou are helpful, āØYou are giving,
You are loved.āāØāØI zipped Reese up in her sleep sack, laid her blanket on my shoulder and she instantly dropped her head and snuggled in tightly. I swayed back and fourth in the dark, quiet room gently repeating her affirmations to her, feeling every word I said so deeply. After a few minutes, she lifted her little head, grabbed each side of my face with her warm chubby hands and rubbed her nose back and fourth against mine. She laid her head back down, and melted even deeper into my arms.āØāØI needed this sweet, gentle reminder tonight. Something to let me know that we are doing OK. Something to make me feel appreciated and seen. Something to let me know sheās happy and feels my love.āØāØIāve been working a lot the past month and a half, and we have all been feeling the change since I am normally home with both kids.āØāØIn times when you feel like you give, and give, and give with nothing in return, just remember that your babes see you.āØThey hear you.āØThey need you.āØThey love you. āØāØThese little gentle reminders are so special, arenāt they? And they always seem to come at the perfect time.āØāØDo you do affirmations with your kids? I rehearse these every single night to both T and R. Whether Tate engages, or not, (he does most nights, but I always give him the choice!) itās so important to me that I always fill them up with traits I know are rooted deep in their souls.
Our words matter, mamas š¤
