As human beings we often rely on others opinions to shape our sense of self-worth and identity.

Throughout our lives, we encounter many people who will try to define us. It could be a parent who wants us to follow in their footsteps or a teacher who thinks we should take a certain career path.

While it's natural to listen to the advice and feedback of those around us, we need to be careful not to let their opinions dictate our lives.

The truth is, nobody knows you better than yourself. You are the only one who has lived through your experiences, felt your emotions, and dealt with your challenges.

You are the expert on your own life.

Therefore, it should be you who has the final say on what kind of person you are and who you want to become.

Defining yourself can be a difficult, yet powerful ongoing process that allows you to take ownership of your life and create a sense of self that is uniquely yours.

It requires self-reflection, introspection, and a willingness to embrace your unique qualities and quirks.

It means recognizing that you are not perfect, but that's okay because nobody is.

It also means accepting that your sense of self may evolve over time as you learn and grow.

When you define yourself, you are taking ownership of your life. You are allowing yourself to control your destiny & shape your sense of self.

You are saying, "I am who I am, and that's okay. I am proud of the person I am becoming, and I'm excited about the person I will be in the future."

Let's talk about Motivation...

Motiv- = of or relating to motion or the causing of motion.

-Ation = denoting a result or product of action.

The way I interpret this is motivation is not the the result of how you feel when you wake up.

Motivation is the result of movement. Whether it be movement with your physical body, or the movement of the imagination activated within.

As you read this, think about the life it is you desire…

You are in the drivers seat of your dream car with your hair blowing in the warm summers breeze. You drive into your gated mansion with a beautiful custom crafted fountain in the middle of your driveway. You are welcomed home by your family who are healthy and happy.

Or think about being on the warm beach in your dream holiday destination, whether it’s Brazil or Bali.. You hear the ocean gently crashing the shore as you wiggle your toes in the cotton sand.

Whatever it is you desire, take a second to close your eyes and reflect on the FEELING of having attained the said desire, then smile and give gratitude towards the experience.

Notice how you feel slightly more motivated after experiencing this within?

This is due to the mental movement in your brain.

An extension of this is through hacking our minds by understanding its chemical process.

When we grow curious, our brain secretes a hormone called ‘dopamine’, which is also known as the ‘happiness hormone’. This allows for the stimulation of new neural activity (brain movement), therefore when we learn new information, through the process of learning, we become more motivated.

If you desire motivation, we can attain it by through the acquisition of new knowledge, as you are doing by reading this!

Notice how when you learn or experience something new and interesting, you feel increased desire to move?

Motivation is a consequence of INFORMATION, that is fuelled by MOVEMENT towards a DESIRE.
