Thoughts? Does this show people "voting with their feet" against leftist policies and leaders, or does this show conservatives in leftist counties fleeing for more conservative-friendly areas?

Are we headed toward insolvency? Insolvency is a situation in which a country cannot pay its debts.

Here is a sobering visualization of the recently released 10-year federal budget projections from the Congressional Budget Office for 2023-2033.

The cost of servicing federal debt overtakes defense spending on a dollar basis in 2028. In 2031, it starts to exceed the cost of all other “discretionary” government programs, meaning everything except mandatory programs like Medicare and Social Security.

Meanwhile, President Biden attempted (by fiat) to circumvent Congress and forgive student loans, a cost that will exceed $400 billion over 30 years (according to the Congressional Budget Office); and lawmakers recently agreed to provide Ukraine with roughly $112 billion in four separate spending bills.

The First and most fundamental freedom is at risk. Its greatest threat is not government or regulators, but the ignorance of Americans (freely) contemplating ways of limiting the freedom of others.

82% say it’s hard to ban hate speech because people can’t agree on what speech is hateful or offensive.

Despite this, the survey also found Americans willing to censor, regulate, or punish a wide variety of speech and expression they personally find offensive:
• 51% of strong liberals say it’s “morally acceptable” to punch N***s.
• 53% of Republicans favor stripping U.S. citizenship from people who burn the American flag.
• 51% of Democrats support a law that requires Americans use transgender people’s preferred gender pronouns.
• 47% of Republicans favor bans on building new mosques.
• 58% of Democrats say employers should punish employees for offensive Facebook posts.
• 65% of Republicans say NFL players should be fired if they refuse to stand for the national anthem.

"Russia is proposing to help the Iranians on their missile program and also at least considering the possibility of providing fighter aircraft to Iran as well," said William Burns, director of the Central Intelligence Agency said on Sunday.

CIA director William Burns said that the collaboration between Iran and Russia is "moving at a pretty fast clip in a very dangerous direction."

As the United States was watching the skies in the aftermath of the spy balloon incident, China may have been acting at sea.

In early February, maritime vessels disabled the two undersea cables connecting Taiwan’s Matsu Islands, a tiny archipelago just 10 nautical miles off China’s coast, to the internet.

Now residents of the islands face highly reduced internet connectivity until the cables are repaired. The activity looks like targeted harassment by Beijing—or an exercise in preparation for cutting off the whole of Taiwan.

The cutoff of the Matsu Islands may be a dry run for further aggression.

Penny for your thoughts?

From the article: "Edelman notes that polarization is both 'cause and consequence of distrust,' creating a self-fulfilling cycle. ..[C]oncerns about the erosion of civility and weakening social fabric also lead to polarization."

Is he right and, if so, what can be done to reverse the trend?

This chart plots polarization for various countries based on the Edelman Trust Institute's annual survey of 32,000+ people.

Two nuclear-armed powers are currently contesting the fate of Ukraine. One side, Russia, is directly engaged in conventional warfare. However, the US and its allies are fighting indirectly by providing Ukraine with what Alex Karp, chief executive of Palantir Technologies Inc., calls “the power of advanced algorithmic warfare systems.” These are now so potent, he recently told the Washington Post’s David Ignatius, that they “equate to having tactical nuclear weapons against an adversary with only conventional ones.” Take a moment to ponder the implications of that.

2022 was the year in which war made a comeback. But Cold War II could become World War III in 2023 — with China as the arsenal of autocracy.

Welcome to @RichTurnerCommunity

After years of being encouraged to share my experiences, whether growing up in Central America, flying AH-1W SuperCobra attack helicopters in the USMC, leading some of the most elite Marine and foreign military ground units overseas, helping organizations succeed as a consultant, or simply being a dad and husband, I finally gave in. This is where you’ll find said information, stories, and inspiration. My story is not special, but it is unique. I can honestly attribute my blessings to Almighty God and to no one else. I do not deserve to live such a blessed life, nor to have survived my past experiences, but I’m here. And so is my story.
