📣II With exceptional determination and skill, we are thrilled to announce that several board members of The Enigma shone brightly at the fierce yet inspiring competition at the 𝐒𝐚𝐧 𝐈𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐫𝐨 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐭 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥𝐬 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠, securing victories across different categories during the event held from December 4–6, 2024, at Sawata National High School. Facilitated by the Provincial Information, Communication, and Knowledge Management Office (PICKMO), this remarkable achievement has earned them the opportunity to represent the district and compete in the highly anticipated Division Schools Press Conference (DSPC).

For the foundation of this achievement, we extend our deepest gratitude to our ever dynamic Principal Sir Allan, Jr. J. Paglinawan; our Head Teacher II Ma. Narcissa Gallaza; the publication's SPAs Ma'am Daisy Relos, Zaldy S. 𝐒𝐚𝐧 𝐈𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐫𝐨 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐭'𝐬 "𝐉𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐨 𝐀𝐤𝐨" 𝐄𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐀𝐬𝐩𝐢𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐉𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐬

The San Isidro District's "Journo Ako" Journalism Training Workshop, held in partnership with PICKMO, ignited a passion for journalism in young minds. For three days, these aspiring journalists immersed themselves in the world of news and storytelling, guided by the expert mentorship of Sir 𝐌𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐧 𝐉𝐚𝐲 𝐒𝐮𝐚𝐲𝐛𝐚𝐠𝐮𝐢𝐨.

The workshop provided a comprehensive curriculum that sharpened their writing, research, and critical thinking skills. Participants learned about various aspects of journalism, including news gathering, interviewing techniques, ethical reporting, and digital media. They also had the opportunity to practice their newfound skills through hands-on activities and real-world scenarios.

A heartfelt thank you to the dedicated District Supervisor 𝐃𝐫. 𝐉𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐀. 𝐅𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐳, 𝐄𝐏𝐒 𝐀𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐧 𝐓. 𝐆𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐧, 𝐄𝐱𝐞𝐥𝐬𝐢𝐬 𝐃𝐞𝐨 𝐃𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐲, school heads, Journalism Coordinator Sir 𝐀𝐥𝐚𝐧 𝐉𝐫. 𝐉. 𝐏𝐚𝐠𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐧, and Ms. 𝐌𝐚. 𝐍𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐢𝐬𝐚 𝐒. 𝐆𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐳𝐚, Head Teacher II, for their tireless efforts in making this event a truly inspiring and enriching experience. 𝐒𝐏𝐎𝐑𝐓𝐒 I 𝕾𝕹𝕳𝕾 𝕮𝖔𝖒𝖒𝖊𝖓𝖈𝖊𝖘 '24 𝕴𝖓𝖙𝖗𝖆𝖒𝖚𝖗𝖆𝖑𝖘

The 2024 sports intramurals at Sawata National Highschool concluded with great success, energizing students, teachers, and parents. The event's build-up began on October 4, leading to the official start on October 7. It featured competitions in basketball, athletics, volleyball, billiards, sepak takraw, badminton, table tennis, and chess.

The atmosphere was electric as students showcased their skills in various sports. From intense basketball showdowns to graceful badminton rallies and strategic chess matches, the action was non-stop and thrilling. Each sport brought its unique excitement, captivating the audience.

"Makita man nga successful sya Kay since opening to awarding na kompleto man nato sya. Successful sya in a way nga tanan man jud events atong na conduct, except lang sa teakwondo which is Wala man Tay venue ana so ato lang gi capacitate ang coach nga Makita syag player ana" Lutter Roilo, Sports Coordinator of Sawata National High School.

Athletic events highlighted speed and endurance, while billiards and table tennis showcased precision and dedication. Sepak takraw and volleyball were crowd favorites, with their fast-paced and skillful plays keeping everyone on the edge of their seats.

Roilo stated that even though there are some misalignments in the field and venue of the sports like basketball volleyball and table tennis, they still found a way to cope with this problem.

The Grade 11 Pink Gladiators emerged as the overall champions, standing out among fierce competitors. Their teamwork and strong performances across multiple sports earned them the top ranking and a well-deserved victory.

"Atoa man gung Pina ka main purpose sa intramurals is to determine kung Kinsa jud tong pinaka main qualifiers ug athlete para sa district meet, and also para sa mga student activities nato nga ma experience nila ang intramurals. " Roilo added.

"This year's intramurals not only celebrated athletic talent but also fostered bravery, camaraderie, and school spirit. The event set a high standard for future competitions, showcasing the resilience and passion of the students. With memories of thrilling matches and hard-fought victories, organizers and participants alike can look back on the 2024 SNHS Intramurals with pride, knowing it was an unforgettable chapter in the school’s history."

𝐅𝐄𝐀𝐓𝐔𝐑𝐄 I 𝕿𝖗𝖎𝖚𝖒𝖕𝖍𝖆𝖓𝖙 𝕿𝖍𝖗𝖔𝖚𝖌𝖍 𝕻𝖊𝖗𝖘𝖊𝖛𝖊𝖗𝖆𝖓𝖈𝖊: 𝕾𝖆𝖜𝖆𝖙𝖆 𝕹𝖆𝖙𝖎𝖔𝖓𝖆𝖑 𝕳𝖎𝖌𝖍 𝕾𝖈𝖍𝖔𝖔𝖑 𝖂𝖎𝖓𝖘 𝕹𝖊𝖔-𝕰𝖙𝖍𝖓𝖎𝖈 𝕯𝖆𝖓𝖈𝖊 𝖆𝖘 𝕮𝖍𝖆𝖒𝖕𝖎𝖔𝖓𝖘 𝖆𝖙 𝕾𝖎𝖐𝖜𝖆𝖙𝖊 𝕱𝖊𝖘𝖙𝖎𝖛𝖆𝖑

As the sky was a gray curtain covering the sun and a soft drizzle visibly kissed the earth across San Isidro, Sawata National High School danced their way to victory as they claim the title champion of the neo-ethnic category during the celebration of Sikwate festival at October 25th on the Sawata Gymnasium.

The light rain did not hurt anyone's spirit, instead brought tension in the air to the audience with the dancer's every motion and movements to further embrace and to honor San Isidro's cacao heritage.

"The challenges we faced during rehearsals were due to the space problems in Sawata Gymnasium, where we practice our dance routine. Since the gym is also used for basketball games, we can't practice continuously." Sam Cabaluna, one of the dancers said.

The gymnasium, where various activities occur was often bustled with basketball games and leagues, leaving the dancers with limited time to work on their dance and experience interruptions. But despite all the difficulties, they still pushed through to give their best.

"We were overwhelmed with joy when we were announced as champions, but it was also a bittersweet moment. During rehearsals, we didn't feel confident about our dance performance. We were surrounded by negativity, and there were times when our blockers failed, leaving us in tears. But after all that, our hard work paid off when we were declared champions." Sam said.

The dancers were all clouded by self-doubt and negative thoughts, they struggled to find confidence with the pressure to perform perfectly at the competition. Their path to winning was not an easy road to get through; they poured all their sweat into practicing for two weeks to make their dance perfect despite the minor flaws they encountered.

When the last of their performances culminated in a round of applause, it was clear that Sawata National High had emerged champions – not only of the contest but also of their journey through perseverance.

𝐅𝐄𝐀𝐓𝐔𝐑𝐄 I 𝕱𝖗𝖔𝖒 𝕳𝖚𝖒𝖇𝖑𝖊 𝕭𝖊𝖌𝖎𝖓𝖓𝖎𝖓𝖌𝖘 𝖙𝖔 𝕲𝖑𝖔𝖇𝖆𝖑 𝕲𝖑𝖔𝖗𝖞

In the heart of rural areas, where enigmatic abilities are hidden within verdant greenery. Despite their apparent simplicity to the untrained eye, one of them won nine championship belts.

Under the sunny day of October, was a day to remember for the students and faculty staff of Sawata National High School as they wholeheartedly welcomed back their esteemed alumnus, Charly Suarez, the world boxing champion and Olympian medalist. The excitement and pride felt by everyone were evident in their thunderous applause.

As Suarez stepped on his alma mater's grounds, he felt intensified nostalgia, gratitude, and deja vu recollecting the good past. With nine total belts under his name, Suarez shared who inspired him and how boxing fulfilled his dream.

"I pursued self-defense training and education to support my family, especially my parents. My mom's sacrifices inspired me to work hard and become a scholar, easing their financial burden. Thankfully, I achieved it, and now I can focus on my studies and passion for boxing." Suarez said

There are many surprises, difficulties, and similar situations in life that force you to choose between your family and your passion. There were similarly roadblocks on Suarez's journey. His family's distance and poor communication were one of his biggest obstacles.

"The greatest challenge was the distance between me and my parents. Growing up, I faced difficulties due to my age and limited communication. Without cellphones, staying in touch was expensive and arduous. I recall we go the nearby church to get a signal from the tower. Despite these obstacles, I persevered and achieved success." Suarez

As Suarez overcame every challenge to become the person he is today. He shared an inspiring message to those aspiring athletes especially those who dream to succeed

"Love God with all your heart and mind. Secondly, love your parents. Thirdly, love your teachers." Suarez added

Homecoming of Suarez to Sawata National High School was more than just coming back to his roots; it was a way for him to give credit to the community and motivate young potential champions. While he is still exploring the boxing world, his encasing does not cease in the arenas and reminds us all that everything is achievable if one has the will, commitment, and hard work.

These young musicians and performers from 𝐒𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐭𝐚 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐇𝐢𝐠𝐡 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥 are a force to be reckoned with! Their dedication and passion, under the expert leadership of Sir 𝑩𝒆𝒏𝒋𝒊𝒆 𝑶𝒍𝒊𝒗𝒂 and 𝑱𝒂𝒏𝒖𝒂𝒓𝒅 𝑳𝒊𝒎𝒊𝒌𝒊𝒅, created a truly unforgettable performance.

The sun glinted off the polished brass of the instruments, illuminating the crowd with their infectious enthusiasm as they marched through the streets, their synchronized steps and powerful performances captivated the audience with their dedication, passion, and undeniable talent. From the precise rhythms of the drums to the soaring melodies of the lyres, every note and movement was executed with a fire that ignited the hearts of all who witnessed it.

𝗙𝗘𝗔𝗧𝗨𝗥𝗘 | "𝕺𝖚𝖗 𝕿𝖊𝖆𝖈𝖍𝖊𝖗𝖘, 𝕺𝖚𝖗 𝕳𝖊𝖗𝖔"

Behind the voices that echo throughout the classroom, they are the ones who don’t just teach lessons from modules but also listen to our stories, offering advice when we feel lost. They are the ones who see beyond grades, noticing where we’re struggling, even when we try to hide it. With every kind word and patient discussion, especially if it takes them even ten explanations for us to fully understand. They are the ones who stay long after the bell rings, making sure we’re ready not just for tests or quizzes, but for the real world. They are our teachers—the quiet, everyday heroes who help in shaping our future.

Being a student is indeed tiring, but have we ever tried putting ourselves in our educator's shoes?

Weekly, for five days, the teachers that we always see or encounter as we walk through the hallways plaster a genuine and smiling look on their faces, maintaining a positive demeanor, even if they might be dealing with their own challenges. Despite whatever they might be going through, they enter their classroom and greet everyone with "Magandang araw/Good day," with a conscious effort to sound more cheerful and lively, as a way to start the day right.

There are also teachers who are often seen as strict and hard to approach, and they are the ones who tend to be overlooked. However, once you enter their classroom, you’ll find them making learning more enjoyable, mixing humor with wisdom. They may make you so nervous during oral recitations, but there is no doubt that you'll be captivated by how they teach with passion, that makes the lesson more unforgettable.

Yet, what many of us failed to see the countless hours our teachers invest outside the school. While we’re at home resting after a long day of classes, they are often busy making lesson plans, grading our assignments, and pouring their hearts into their work. They even sacrifice their personal time, skipping lunch breaks or staying late after school. Their continuous dedication and commitment, which often go unnoticed, build the foundation of our learning journey and help us become the people we’re meant to be. It wasn't just the lessons that made an impact—It was the little acts of care, the "You can do it," and "You did well, It's okay." It's the way they share life advice and believe in us, even when we don't believe in ourselves.

On this Teachers' Day celebration, let us take a moment to recognize and appreciate the tireless efforts of our incredible teachers—not just for this special occasion, but for their continuous support in our everyday lives as students. To the Teachers of Sawata National High School who teaches us lessons not just from the textbooks but from their heartsーthank you for your hard work, your dedication and passion , your patience, and your care that will forever stay with us. Know that your labor will not go in vain.

𝐒𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐭𝐚 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐇𝐢𝐠𝐡 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥 successfully held its first PTA General Assembly for the School Year 2024-2025 yesterday, September 13, 2024. The event featured a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the newly opened pathway and flagpole, followed by the oath-taking of the new officers, and an exciting raffle and rice giveaways for the attendees. Thank you to everyone who participated, sponsored, and made this gathering a success!
