Lately I faced a few low moments; all for various reasons, and thatā€™s okay, because thatā€™s just a part of life.
I leaned into my support system, and anchored down on what and why I was feeling how I was.
I created solutions/plans, and now implementing.

Itā€™s officially my favorite part of the year, Iā€™m ready to watch all the holiday movies, and ready to break out the hoodies, jackets, and sweaters šŸ˜šŸ„°

I had hated much of who I was, where I was, what I was doing, and all of the other horrible things that had been going on in my life. I lost much of my drive, I was constantly being kicked by some people I thought I could depend the most on, and I was tired of living.

I checked myself into therapy, and rebuilt my mindset from no longer being a victim of both childhood and adult PTSD.

Later, I lost a person I cared so much for that was in a very similar low state as me, and since then swore that I would be there for anyone I could to avoid a loss like that again.

So 8 months ago I came back to the digital after a many months long strike off social media only to start my podcast.


Mental freedom is the core concept of the Shel It Like It Is podcast, created by Shel Cierra. She does an excellent job of promoting a healthier mental state through real strategies and useful tools. She focuses on helping adolescents and adults. There are podcasts that will draw a tear and others that will have the listener ready to take on their hardest challenges. The core component of the Shel It Like It Is conversation is problem-solving ā€” developing real skills that apply to daily life that can help a person overcome the obstacles they are facing right now.

One of the ways Shel creates engaging content is by providing a first-hand level of experience to mental health. Itā€™s not about the simple ā€œpat-on-your-handā€ style of dealing with mental anguish but teaching adolescents, especially how to overcome their challenges. They donā€™t have to feel alone or battle what life throws at them by just dealing with it.

Iā€™m sorry that I wasnā€™t there when there was a break in. Iā€™m sorry I didnā€™t move you in with me immediately, but I was still running back and forth between cities and I didnā€™t want you to be alone for big amounts of time. When I thought I lost you all I could do was constantly cry and worry. I love you, and excited to officially have you moved with me! ā¤ļø
Constantly replaying 6 years worth of loving, funny, and emotionally supported memories with you, and Iā€™m glad you are unharmed!! šŸ„²ā¤ļø

Some STRANGER gave me crap for using filters. šŸ˜‚ (I donā€™t need a filter, just like I donā€™t need unsupportive peoples unwarranted opinions)
1. People are always going to have something to say.
2. Stay out of business that doesnā€™t mind you.
3. I have a lot of content without filters; but I donā€™t owe that to anyone since this is MY life.
4. Remember the only person that has to live YOUR life is YOU. So donā€™t be influenced to live in a way that doesnā€™t fit you. ā¤ļøā€šŸ©¹

Hereā€™s to a new chapter in my new home of all my own and of my dreams. Filled with all that I want, and the product of me becoming my better self. Iā€™ve come from major depression, losing the want to live, and PTSD to feeling motivated more than ever, proper standards, and the ability to finally put my best interests first.
Every hard moment in my life is appreciated, and just builds me to reap rewards of never quitting.
Looking past doubts, ill wishes, hurt, and past painā€¦ thereā€™s still a long way up to head from here šŸ„°

šŸšØ Tip! Remind yourself, you are GREAT and one of a kind! You are also human, and anyone you meet WILL relate to your humanly mistakes!!

There was a point in time where I didnā€™t implement any of these steps, and I constantly found myself stressed out and questioning my pace in life.

1. I asked myself who I surrounded myself with and what they brought to the table that brought me happiness or help. Some I realized actually took away from my happiness, soooo *snip snip* I cut them right out of my life.
2. After learning I had ADHD at 25, writing down my ideas as they pop into my head not only controlled the chaos in my brain, but has also helped when I find myself in content struggles because Iā€™ll always have a notebook to look back to for those once wandering thoughts.
3. I love audiobooks, I love listening to self help books, psychology books, and before/after personal growth books. Reading these always keep me wanting to reach higher goals.
4. Analyzing my days, weeks, and months helps me gauge where I can improve in certain areas of my life.
5. Iā€™m still working on writing more than I do, but when I do I find that I definitely can articulate in ways I wish I could when speaking out loud. The more I work on this, then the better I will learn to communicate through my speech. ā£ā£ā£ā£ā£ā£

I will not hesitate to show you the reality of how some of us have faced life. I will give you all the support you need, and will not hide life as it is. Thatā€™s the problem now, people faking happy. I understand Iā€™m not for everyone, I donā€™t want to be; I want to be for those that need it, who are hurting like I have done for many years. Send to whoever needs some inspiration: I went from being bullied, to being a bully, to insecure, to confident asfff, to somewhere in between, to just flat out loving every piece of me. Iā€™ve been fired from jobs for popping off, Iā€™ve abandoned jobs that only created hardship, Iā€™ve pushed away every single person and gone MIA, to setting boundaries and trusting myself and depending on solely myself. Iā€™ve went from hustling in ā€œnot so great waysā€ to a secure medical profession in addition beginning my own businesses and filing each one under my own corporation. Antidepressants are not a reason to quit, people holding onto your past is not a reason to quit, people talking down to you is not a reason to quit, you just barely making it one day at a time is not a reason to quit. Your past, your issues, your failures, your circle, your family, even your thoughts are NOT a reason to quit. Quitting is not an effffffinā€™ option; you simply remove yourself from what no longer serves you, and move onto what is going to get you to where you need to be. I am a walking example of not having things handed to me; Iā€™ve worked for everything, and Iā€™ve lost nearly everything. Iā€™ve slept days away, drank days away, cried days away, slept in my car with my cat when everything was at rock bottom. There is no reason you canā€™t have or do whatever it is you dream of doing. There is not one person in this world that can stop you from achieving your goals. SOMEBODYā€™S gotta win, so why canā€™t it be you? šŸ¤Ŗā¤ļø ā£ā£ā£ā£ā£ā£

Have we met yet? Hello, Iā€™m Shel, your high functioning trauma survivor. I've experienced a lot of crap in my life, and I've achieved a lot in my life. I've witnessed the direct route from Cloud 9 to Rock Bottom and back again... several times over. The days have gotten easier now: thanks to less visits to courtrooms, less visits to the medical doctors, less visits to my Psychiatrist, less alcohol abuse, finding the right prescriptions, etc. Maybe we should start from the beginning?? ~ Season 2 | "Shel It Like It Is" Podcast

How to Deal with Your Abandonment Issues

Are you constantly pouring into others without anyone pouring into you?
In this episode, we talk about abandoned people and how their hurt stops them from connecting with others.
Being alone is not the worst thing, being alone and suffering in silence is the worst thing. Sometimes when youā€™re abandoned and left alone for so long, you no longer want to be around people or accept their help.
Hurt and abandoned people are always trying to help others, which makes the situation worse for everyone involved. It becomes a selfish issue thatā€™s not about helping the other person but proving weā€™re enough to be kept around.
An abandoned person is always trying to overdeliver by giving what is not being given to them, which only stops others from delivering to them. You are the reason you find yourself suffering alone because your cup will run out eventually. Remember that youā€™re not obligated to serve anyone unless you serve yourself. Helping yourself is not selfish because you can only fully give when youā€™re giving yourself.
It is important to care about the other personā€™s perspective to effectively communicate in a community. Be empathetic when communicating so as not to damage others and yourself in the process. Stop reacting off of your hurt, learn about yourself, and how to communicate so you donā€™t hurt others. Find a balance between giving others and yourself so you donā€™t fall back into your hurt.
