NATURAL SPANISH HOUSE WITH A MEDITERRANEAN AND RUSTIC LOOK

The owners of this 90 m2 Spanish house live in the city but wanted to bring back a natural decor inspired by their holidays by the sea. They entrusted interior designers Esther Abad Coloma, Patricia Mollá Utrilla, and José Manuel Linares Martín of Ni2 Estudio de Interiores with the task of recreating the beach and nature atmosphere they had enjoyed during their stay by the sea in Jávea near the Mediterranean and Alicante.

The house is decorated in white, with weathered wood and natural fibers, which keep it bright. Although this 90m2 Spanish house is not huge, it has beautiful open volumes, which open onto a city garden on the first level. Oak is a common element on both the ground and ground floors, used for the floor and also for the woodwork. The Mediterranean and rustic look of this house gives its owners the impression of living in a holiday home all year round.

"Rustic describes a design that's natural, rough, aged, and casual, so there are many styles—each drastically different from the other—that can be rustic. Some include Tuscan, coastal, cottage, or what you might traditionally think of as rustic—lodge.

One of the defining characteristics of a rustic home, whether it's cottage or coastal, is the use of natural materials. That means lots of wood and stone (both in furniture and on ceilings/walls), and fabrics like burlap and canvas. "Rustic design, at its core, is the use of organic elements in their most natural state". Design is simple, natural, and has an earthy feel about it. L'immeuble monumental de la rue de Rennes ouvre en 1904. Situé au 140, rue de Rennes, à l'angle de la rue Blaise-Desgoffe, l'immeuble, œuvre de l'architecte Paul Auscher est le premier grand magasin à utiliser le béton armé dans sa construction. Le bâtiment est une grande surface alimentaire de six étages richement décorée en style Art nouveau qui propose notamment un « service de cuisine pour la ville » avec son rayon traiteur. La disposition à l'intérieur du magasin a été voulue aérée et ordonnée afin de permettre une circulation facile. Un tapis roulant permet d'accéder à un salon de thé et à un salon de photographie situés à l'entresol.

Hamptons style interiors are an American version of the French interior design styles Baroque, Rococo and Empire. They are usually spacious with generous proportions, holiday home-like and nautical-inspired.
