Look at the following chance to hold a lecture for interested people on geography topics.

--------------------------------------------------------------------

I am writing to you on behalf of a project called "Where Does Europe End? 2.0" which is led by a team of members of AEGEE (European Students' Forum) from all over Europe. Our project is about examining how young people perceive Europe while spreading knowledge about “European identity”, Europeanism, and empowering young people to become active European citizens. We want to reach these aims through a series of events that will take place in 2021, both offline and online. There will be a series of Case Study Trips and conferences. In the end, all of these events will contribute to a set of policy recommendations, which will be directed towards relevant European stakeholders. On Wednesday the 12th of May – Thursday the 13th of May 2021 we are organizing a conference on the topic of European history and geography. Throughout the event we want to focus on the influence history and geography has had on Europe, such as how history has influenced our identity as European citizens as well as how the geographical context of the countries we live in has shaped our identity and the relations between different states. On the first conference day, the primary focus will be on history, on the second day it will be geography. The conference will be from 15:00-19:00 on both days and will consist of several workshops as well as interactive discussions. Considering the current COVID-19 situation, this event will be held online.Given the wide field of geographical knowledge and expertise within EGEA, we were wondering whether a member or team of yours would be interested in giving an (interactive) lecture, session or workshop on a human-geography related topic on Thursday the 13th of May, from 16:00 - 17:30 CET. The direction in which this session could go is broad, it could for example be about intercultural dialogue in a specific region or international relations and conflicts. If no-one is available at the specific time slot mentioned, but EGEA is still interested in participating in our event, there might be other options as well. For example we would like to have an interactive discussion at the end of each conference day, where organisations would be more than welcome to share their points of view with us.We would be open to have an online meeting should you have any questions you want us to answer in person. We are looking forward to hearing back from you!

Dear EGEAns please take a look at this webinar, which can help you to publish books.

--------------------------------------------------------------
Webinar name: Book Publishing 101 for Geographers
Webinar date and time: 26.04.2021 @ 14:00 (CEST / UTC+2:00)

Publishing Editor, Doris Bleier, presents an exclusive webinar for researchers interested in learning more about publishing a book in the fields of Geography and Sustainability Research.
This webinar will provide information for researchers wanting to publish for the first time. Due to the circumstances we have been living under over the past year, and the changes in how we network at conferences, we hope that this webinar will be useful in overcoming some of the challenges, particularly for young geographers.
This webinar is brought to you by Springer Nature and the EUROGEO, and is a reflection of the successful collaboration with the “Key Challenges in Geography” book series. EUROGEO is committed to capacity building of young researchers, supporting geographers in their jobs and academic careers, so publication possibilities will be elaborated on both inside and outside of the “Key Challenges in Geography” series.

Dear all,

APECS International Polar Week March 2021 is coming up soon, and we are excited to contribute with an event on Fieldwork! This topic might feel far away at the moment. Let's change this: Enjoy some good stories, get some first-hand information, and start making plans for the next season!

On March 18th at 5:30pm (CET), APECS Germany hosts a special Polar-Fieldwork event, welcoming fellow researchers and interested students alike. Joined by a group of early career polar scientists, you'll get insights into various fieldwork campaigns and have a casual chat about your questions and other curiosities.

What is the value of undertaking fieldwork?

How to prepare when going to the polar regions?

How can I create fieldwork opportunities for myself?

Please register beforehand so that you can get access to the zoom session. https://tinyurl.com/apecs-fieldwork

We are looking forward to meeting you!

APECS Germany

P.S: And don't forget: It's Polar Week the whole week from 14-20 March 2021! Let's enjoy a week of Polar Science from many different perspectives, raising awareness on polar and alpine areas with their people, research, fieldwork, and stories. Follow us on Twitter .

Working in a National Park sounds like a dream to you? You wanted to be on your own in the nature and do something to provide the beauty of it for the future?
Take an internship in the Nationalpark Berchtesgarden and help to survey the forest and get an insight of a unique and breathtaking environment. You should have some little knowledge about forestry and speak German. Do you want to spend your summer in the Alps?
Do you also want to learn about nature protection and management of a protected landscape?
Do you speak at least a bit of German?

Then do not hesitate to apply for an internship at the Hochgebirgsnaturpark Zillertaler Alpen in Tyrol
in Austria and follow my footsteps as a summer intern. Each year the nature park hires two interns
for the summer to help the team in all aspects of nature park work. You will help realise nature
protection projects, guide tourists, organise a volunteer project on alpine pastures and much more.
The nature park even offers to combine your thesis with the internship and allows you to conduct
your research in the region during work times. Speaking of the region: The nature park is located
upwards of 1000m altitude in the breathtaking Zillertal alps and has its Headquarters in the beautiful
small village of Ginzling.
You can find all the details for the internship on their website naturpark-zillertal.at. If you are
interested, don’t hesitate to contact me for further information.

Looking for a great internship?

What about working in a nature reserve in a team of young people who love to be in nature? Laura did an internship at “Bund für Umwelt und Naturschutz (BUND)” in Southern Germany. The job is about nature conservation and monitoring rare species in the Nature Reserve “Mindelsee” next to Lake Constance. You get to work with machines like this one, learn a lot about rare plants, have a great summer in the fields and go swimming after work every day. There is a job offer for this position online now! You can find it here. If you are interested, don’t hesitate to contact her for further information.
