So, let’s talk essentials: What are YOUR must-haves for winter camping?

For me, it’s all about layering and comfort. A high-quality sleeping bag rated for sub-zero temperatures is non-negotiable, along with plenty of thermal layers and wool socks to keep the chill at bay.

Other must-haves? Insulated boots to keep your toes warm, a sturdy tent that can handle snow. Bonus points if you bring hand warmers or a portable heater for extra comfort.

One of the BEST parts of visiting a Renaissance festival is the food. There’s something magical about eating a hearty meal while surrounded by the sights and sounds of knights, jesters, and wandering minstrels.

But the Renaissance festival is a foodie’s paradise, and everyone has their favorites! Maybe you’re a turkey (really emu) leg traditionalist, someone who craves sweet, powdered-sugar-dusted funnel cakes , or perhaps you’re all about the roasted nuts and mead.

I love taking modern, easy to get items and "larpifing" them.

Something like this is a great base. Rough the edges a bit, maybe tack on some furs or bits of scrap leather, and bam! You have a tremendous larping piece.

People seem to ignore these types of "modern" outfits. I hate seeing people wearing jeans and other obviously out-of-decorum garb. You can still wear modern stuff; just put a little effort into making it shine!

We all know LARP events come in all shapes and sizes—from single-day quests to week-long epic sagas. But what’s the perfect length for YOU?

Personally, I’m a huge fan of five to seven day long events. That sweet spot lets you dive fully into your character, get immersed in the story, and still have time for unexpected twists, alliances, and maybe even a little downtime to sit by the campfire and plot your next move with your friends.

But I know some of you love the fast-paced, high-energy thrill of a weekend LARP that leaves you buzzing with excitement for days after.
