Sorry Members and guests, we have been hit last 4 days by spam bots and denial of service bots, we are not the only net that has had it happen to, there are several and up to now we have held off major disruptions but another straw in the coffin just happened, we were subject to kick and bans, to some if not all of you, we can not see the lists, If you can not log in please message us here and we can hopefully resolve this problem ASAP, With help from Friends n Song I hope we have found a way to get us up and running fully, very shortly. It is with sadness that I have heard today, that a regular of the Karaoke room and scene has Passed away from Covid, We all knew him as Manilownut and he was in nearly every single room in existence and even had his own room before his passing this month (December). May he be singing with the angels RIP James.

WE ARE BACK
Use wilma.karaoke-rocks.com 6667 to login, everything should be the same, except for the nickname register, with the latest software it uses a different database format and we couldn't save the old database to new. Sorry you will need to re-register you nick once you login (this is NOT a MIRC registration)
With the new server comes a new rule or policy, it is a fair use POLICY, no longer will constant downloads be permitted as was the case in the past. If a OP considers the downloads excessive you will be warned, further infractions will result in harsher penalty, sorry this has to be implemented but there were far to many complaints from members.
We still do not know why the last server just died on us, but we hope this new one is a more secure and long lasting association.
We think we saved the trivia scores this time up to the last month, that will make a few of our trivia buffs happy.

Hi Members,
As most know by now, the Server went down Monday morning here and contact with the Server providers was started as soon as I knew, However despite many emails and Service Tickets to them there has been no reply, I do not know if they have gone out of business due to maybe health problems or just pulled pin, would be nice to least get a email or note or something letting us know, Looking for a new Server to call home has already begun, but I will not be grabbing the cheapest by any means, Service and speed are just 2 factors that will need to be met. I have a short list at moment but if you know of any GOOD , dependable server companies please leave a message here and I will follow up, I hate being off line and I wont leave it to long to get a new server if needed. - Regards - Darganeor

Ladies and Gentlemen, boys and girls, he's and she's, him and hers, we have managed to get Krocks back and running, it is still being trialed and tested and would appreciate and problems messaged to a OP. That does not mean not getting a voice as soon as you enter, the bots are still to be looked at to see if compatible, but at the moment Services, voice and trivia are all back, is the search method right now. Use and enjoy. At moment it looks stable and is behaving. Regards Darganeor PS - seeing it a total rebuild you will need to register you nick with nickserv again, -- /msg nickserv register passwordyouchoose emailadress -- dont type the -- thanks --- PPS seems there is a few gremlins in new code. the is not working as stated earlier, or , we are thinking omenserv might need a reconfig also :(.

New server has been acquired but we just cant copy old software over, they require the latest version be used and those versions are completely different and be re-written and are not compatible with earlier versions, So we are madly crunching new code and configurations to get Krocks back up ASAP. thanks for the patience and goo wishes, you can be assured Krocks is not closing for good as we have been asked. After a long and frustrating night, there is still no resolution, still no return email and not answering the telephone, very frustrating indeed, going to take a few hours off to haave a shower and grab a hour shuteye befor trying it all again.

For all our patient members yes the site has crashed again, for our (censored) Scott - IT AINT WORKING - AND IS DOWN. Despite several emails, they remain unanswered, Be assured as soon as problem fixed we will be back online.

Hi Members, once again the powers that be refuse to answer or assist with this servers problem, its about the last straw, I have been searching for another server and hopefully will be running on that soon, but till then stick with us on the old one the address has changed a little mainly the port, its gone back to the old 6667, so in your mirc type /server wilma.karaoke-rocks.com 6667 and that will get you back, services wont be about just yet but hopefully the bots will handlt the load.- thanks for you patience, Regards, Admins Karaoke Rocks.

UPDATE:- We are still having hassle and major headache, I am about to try and get a secondary server that will at least give us place to connect while the main one is fortified and reclaimed without rush, it may not have all the features of the Main but it will allow us to transfer our songs etc. There will be extra cost but as always Karaoke Rocks will be free and stay free to members, they dont have any ircd servers on free hosting lists which is a shame but crap happens but I would sooner we all have a place to connect than just sit looking at no Karaoke Rocks screen. Will keep you updated. Worse scenario is we have to all register again with nickserv :)

UPDATE: We are back to a degree, most if not all member functions are working fine it appears, just the admin and other higher up commands and functions are scattered., thanks for your patience. Hopefully we will stay steady now.

New DEATH:, we are trying to track why we have gone down, it is a strange time to get a server fail so leaning more towards the school kid Einstein hacker. we will be working to get back online ASAP, check in here for further updates.

UPDATE:_ Okies folkies, we are back AGAIN, cant keep us away for to long, dam April 1st,added a few new its to code and will look at doing more as day and week progresses, with luck that is the end of it and we don't have another long unplanned downtime, except for what is planed but that will only be minutes at a time. Thanks for your patience and if you cant connect always check here first for and outages or updates.

UPDATE: Server is back, some of the bots are still absent, they will come online as the owner of the bot wakes and resorts there end. Hopefully we have seen the end of it.
