If you know anyone who’s still in denial about police brutality and race, I don’t know if I can help you convince them with anything. But often the deflections include blaming the victims for not complying with police enough. No brutality should be seen through that lens, but this case really defies any attempt to justify the cops’ actions. They shot a child in his own home because he was shouting. If you “fear for your life” when someone raises their voice, even when it’s a kid, you’re not meant to be a cop. You’re meant to be a Walmart greeter. Or maybe an earplug tester.
