it honestly feels like yesterday i launched bceen, onboarding my first client. yet at the same time it feels like i’ve been here forever... i think that’s what finding your purpose and passion feels like.

it brings me happy tears to reflect on the past 365 days. i can’t thank everyone who has worked with me, supported me, believed in me, referred me, shown kindness, followed me, cheered me on enough. thank you, i am celebrating today because of you.

Often the reason for not being authentic is a fear that the real you isn’t good enough or won’t appeal to the kind of audience you’re going after. If this is the case, take some time to consider who your target audience is and if they’re really the kind of people you want to market to. Your audience, the audience that will follow you, invest in you and share your message – that’s the audience that identifies with the authentic you.⁠

If you’ve based your business on a persona that doesn’t reflect your values and principles you’ll find it hard to maintain the facade. Comms, branding, customer service will all be affected. Customers know inauthenticity when they see it and they won’t stick around for long once they’ve sniffed it out.⁠

Long story short? You’re far more likely to engage and retain long-term clients, customers, followers and investors when you are authentic and transparent.⁠

However, one of the primary objectives of using Instagram story highlights is to create more extensive communication between your brand and the followers, especially new ones. From these narratives that you put into highlights, a user can construct a portrait of the brand.⁠

If we peel away the surface level and look beneath, the reality is that many marketing campaigns are being built on a structured pyramid. Because once that new platform becomes saturated with competitors, or once budgets stop continually flowing into paid strategies, new business can dry up quickly. Then you will find same place you were before you jumped in.⁠

To avoid this scenario, your digital campaign must be built upon a strong foundation. Which leads me into a Digital Foundation Pyramid, which shows how the base of your digital campaign is built on marketing fundamentals, not individual tactics. ⁠

Brand⁠

The core of your digital campaign is first based on your brand as a whole. Your brand is the essence of your company: your identity, your personality, your voice, your culture, your presentation. It is how your organization speaks, moves, sounds, acts. Everything you say or do is a reflection of your brand, even if you are not intentionally doing so. ⁠

Message⁠

All of the digital channels and platforms we talk about on a daily basis: social media, email marketing, lead generation, SEO, Facebook, Instagram, Adwords, etc…those are all distribution channels. They are ways in which we distribute our company’s vision, message, and purpose. They are the world’s most powerful megaphones.⁠

IG stories helps users to capture everything in between posting visuals in feed and create a bigger, richer story then a series of individual photos can provide. Stories are temporary too - they hang around for 24 hours and then they're gone, just like the weekend that just flew by ...⁠

So, why and how can your brand use Instagram Stories?⁠

1. You won't be bombarding your customers in your main feed⁠

Posting lots of content is all well and good but you don't want to annoy your audience by posting too much. ⁠

2. They allow you to get creative and show another side to your brand⁠

You can have a lot of fun with Instagram Stories, that's for sure. Instagram enables you to show off your creative ideas and engage with your audience.⁠

If you’re looking for free or low-cost marketing strategies, email marketing should be at the top of your list—which is why it’s at the top of this one.

2. Use of Socials
Some of my favourite free social media marketing tactics are:
- Hosting a giveaway
- Tutorials
- Personalising your brand
- Sharing relatable content
- Sharing insights, tips & informative information

3. Create free resources
You have plenty of knowledge about your industry, otherwise you wouldn’t have made it this far. What are you an expert in? How can you convey this information to others?

4. Implementing a referral program
By creating a referral program for your existing customers, you’re both incentivising them to bring in new business, and strengthening those potential business relationships by using social proof.

5. Interacting with on brand Instagrams, Facebooks, Youtube, Twitter, Blogs and so on
Make sure you’re joining in the conversation.

6. Build a cross-promotional relationship with complementary businesses

Trending Hashtags: Monitor this on Google+ & Twitter. When you see a topic trending that is relevant to your business make a content update, and include the hashtag.⁠

Local Hashtags: Research local hashtags to reach an audience close by, search-related tags to your business ⁠

Measure, measure & measure - utilise IG post insights to monitor to performance and impressions of your chosen hashtags. if the impressions are low, it's time to change up your hashtag strategy! ⁠

VERY IMPORTANT ~ If the hashtag you are using is banned, your post will be hidden - so do not sabotage your growth strategy and make sure you check your tags before using them. ⁠
Simply go to IG explore page and enter the hashtag⁠
If the hashtag is banned you will see a message from Instagram advising this hashtag is hidden at the top of the page.⁠
If the hashtag does not show up at all, this suggests it is too hidden from IG. ⁠

We know authenticity is a vital component for any brand. It relates to how you are perceived, and how much trust you garner from both potential and existing consumers ⁠

1. Be available
Nothing will build authenticity quicker than being ready to have those conversations with your potential and existing customers. The social media sphere allows you to be 1:1 with your consumers so take full advantage of that

2. Share stories
People like to hear stories. Not just promotional and marketing texts but real stories about the challenges your brand faces and how you overcome them to grow your business. Stories allow emotional connections to be formed if your people as people trust people. This is how people can relate to your brand

3. Show BTS
Let your community see what it is like to be apart of your brand, sharing your brand BTS. This may be who they are chatting with via email, who makes the glorious product whatever it maybe will help your consumers authentically engage and connect with your brand personality - not just seeing you as a business

4. Connection
The only way to connect authentically with your community is to find out what is important to them, who they are, what they value, what they're looking for.

5. Admit when you are wrong
Don't be that brand who deletes comments, or hides the truth. You can establish authenticity on socials by taking action, speaking up, and apologising. We all make mistakes, you don't need to hide

6. Keep your brand consistency
In our modern world when everything changes in the blink of an eye, it’s very important for your brand to keep its consistency through all marketing and sales channels you got. This way, your audience can recognise you in an instant and know that your article, video, email, etc. can be trusted
