It's June, and that means it's time for our summer break and for Jenny Rowe ( ) to pass on the EiC position to her marvelous creative nonfiction peer, Hillary Foreman ( ). 🎉 Hillary brings a wealth of editorial experience from her time at Ohio University, and we can't wait to see what she'll do for CutBank this year!

Jenny will keep working behind the scenes for #101 this summer, but all website orders will be on hold and fulfilled in August. Thank you everyone for your support---what an incredible year for CutBank. 🌼

We're back with a fresh promo post for CutBank: Today we celebrate Angela Townsend ( ), whose marvelous essay "Incompatible" appears in our 100th issue. We couldn't put it down with these first sentences:

"'Incompatible with life.' You hear this phrase in my line of work. At the animal refuge, arrivals are often on the brink of departure."

This year's CutBank EiC, Jenny Rowe ( ) just graduated yesterday with her MFA in creative nonfiction and is heading up to Glacier National Park for a few days to celebrate! CutBank 100 countdown, day 3: Today we celebrate writer and NMHU English Professor Lauren Fath for her wonderful personal essay "Cherries," which is featured in our 100th issue. The nonfiction editors and readers unanimously agreed on this piece from the first sentence:

"On the last day of classes, in early May, smoke blackens the skies above campus, billows over my small New Mexico town, sends a flurry of ash floating down."

Today's featured contributor is poet Joseph Byrd (), whose poem "Catastases" is featured in our one hundredth issue. We were struck by Byrd's spare yet haunting lines, such as these:

GENRE CONTESTS UPDATE 👀: We're extending our genre contests by 2 WEEKS! has agreed to be our Montana Prize in Creative Nonfiction guest judge, and we're so excited that we want to give everyone who still wants to submit enough time!
