If you haven't heard, this month's HIGHLANDER HALL OF FAME Spotlight is Mr. Nathan Minton. He is one of four nominees selected to be inducted into this year's Highlander Hall of Fame. The former educator, dean, coach, and community supporter served as faculty at both Roosevelt High School and the Lake Wales High School throughout his teaching career. "Coach Mint" began his teaching and coaching career in Lake Wales, Florida, September of 1966. Fondly remembered for his white VW Bug and his humorous morning announcements, Mr. Minton will always be valued as a highly respected educator, coach, and administrator in our community. He retired in May of 2004 and for 38 years Mr. Minton served on the Highlander Booster Club. He dedication was instrumental in the longevity of the organization that supports athletics at LWHS. The Highlander Hall of Fame will be Saturday, April 22 at the Lake Wales Country Club. Show your support and let the Highlander Booster Club know that you're there to see him appreciated.
