Hi!

Ad Astra consists of a website ( https://www.adastra-radio.com/), two radio streams - an electronic and an ambient one - and a (free) chat service.

The hosting for the website is almost free because it is a static website (approx 1 eur / month), and the server that streams the two music streams to the servers at CloudRadio is an old PC that runs in a closet, so - aside the electrical bill - no costs there.

The electronic and ambient stream are about 5 EURs a month, what i've been paying for since Ad Astra is online. The total costs for one year of 24/7 Ad Astra Electronic Radio streams comes down to 60 EURs. I will gladly pay those in 2024, because I have lot of fun listening to and running the radio station.

However, a donation is welcome. If you want to help me with keeping the station up and running, please consider a small donation for this year's radio stream hosting costs.

UPDATE 10:24 CET:

The ShoutCast servers are up again and seem to work fine.

Meh. The service we use for the ShoutCast server - clourad.io - is down. That never happened in the 2+ years we're running Ad Astra Electronic Radio. I'll keep an eye out on what and why that happened. If push come to shove, we'll move to another hoster. No music for now, sorry :(

Ad Astra Radio Server upgrade: used the vacuum cleaner to get the dust out of the CPU cooler. The server (and the server admin) is happy again!

The chat on the site is fine, but i'd like to see if a discord server (where a server in this case is a chatroom) can be used instead - more features and no limit to the ppl in the chat. Stay tuned!
