What’s your hashtag strategy?

Don’t have one?

Don’t worry!

Most people don’t, but the correct and optimal use of hashtags can translate into more engagement, followers, and customers for your business.

Hashtags are still as effective as ever in reaching your target audience and increasing engagement on your Instagram posts in 2023.

Here are some of my top hashtag tips to add to your hashtag strategy.

⭐️ Use relevant and targeted hashtags on your posts.

⭐️ Use only the most relevant hashtags related to the content you're sharing.

⭐️ Use a variety of hashtags sizes so you don't get caught up in too large or too small hashtags.

⭐️ Try Flick - A great tool that helps you discover a variety of hashtags related to the topic you want to post about. I use it all day every day so can highly recommend it.

🔥 February Instagram Engagement Challenge 🔥

If like me, you sometimes need a challenge to stay motivated, then join me this February in an Instagram Engagement Challenge!

Building a community is one of the most important elements of any social media strategy so this February let’s focus on building that community on Instagram.

Below are some daily (week days is fine!) and weekly tasks for you to complete throughout the month.

✅ Comment on 8 - 10 posts per day (set 10 mins aside in your diary every day) these should be posts of your followers/ideal customers
✅ Create 2 -3 polls in your stories each week - simple yes/no polls is all it takes
✅ Show 2-3 behind the scenes in your stories each week
✅ Encourage your audience to tag you in their stories by creating a mini challenge. You could take a photo of what you are doing at that very moment and ask your audience to do the same, tagging you. You can then share their tags in your stories.
✅ Each week ask your audience a question in your stories. It could be a specific question like ‘What would you like to see more of?”
✅ Create 1 reel per week in February! Go on! You can do it! Drop me a DM if you need some tips on how to create a reel quickly.

My October Instagram Engagement Challenge is complete!

The result speak for themselves.

• Regular engagement
• Almost consistent posting (half term saw a slight drop in focus!)
• Regular posting of reels
• Polls in stories (I could have done more really)
• Behind the scenes stories - I failed on that one in October!

So the results were incredible but I can still do more.

This is when you should be posting to social media!

If you’re running a B2C (Business to Consumer) business then you’re best posting when they are in scrolling mode which is likely to be early morning before their day starts or later in the evening when they are winding down for the day.

If your target audience consists of B2B (Business to Business) executives or brands, you’ll get better results posting at lunchtime or during office hours while they’re exploring different solutions.
