Attention! New music by the excellent Conrad F Campbell and recorded at the Clubhouse! The first track in our sessions from this year to be released (so more to come), but this has all the sweet sweet Canadiana folk rock feels for sure. Chickadee lake is a short drive from the studio. Recording sometimes feels like 5th gear all the time, it’s nice to have access to 1st gear places to get away to.

Last year we were involved in putting together a compilation album that featured exclusively Denman Island musicians. It was called ‘Occupied Denman’ and it totally demonstrates that this little island of ours has an AMAZING depth of genre and style. Jazz to folk, rock, pop, electronic - such a privilege to be able to record and produce this. We’ve been off socials for a while - we feel a bit like the barber with the wonky haircut. But! We’ve been busy, with recording, hardware upgrades, and this week some expansion. Got us a super nice floating iso booth in the works, complete with 2” industrial rubber floor absorbers… next step, the room in a room!

From a photo shoot at the studio with , and the legendary ! Love these pictures, and having such awesome local visual and musical artists to make stuff with. Conrad threw down some vocal takes after the shoot on a few tracks - when you hear them, they will rockabilly your face off. 🎸🥁

Gotta say it’s not every day one gets to record a nine piece ukulele orchestra! Had to set them all up in the shop just to fit them all, but this was about as fun as it can get recording. Everyone was so happy doing this one and it sounds awesome already.

We’ve been working on a compilation of Denman musicians, and today we got to work with Denman mandolin prodigy - started with a great ghost track arrangement, then down to the shop for tracking with all the 12 strings and some weird ass guitar amps…
