Today, we are sharing the recipe for "Karnıyarık," an indispensable dish from classic Turkish cuisine. Making this delicious and satisfying dish is actually easier than you might think. Let's take a step-by-step look at the recipe together:
Step 1: Preparing the Eggplants
Peel the eggplants in a striped pattern and let them soak in salted water. This will remove the bitterness and enhance their flavor. Then, wash them thoroughly and fry.
Step 2: Preparing the Filling
In a pan, sauté onions and peppers in vegetable oil. Then, add the minced meat and sauté it thoroughly. Finally, add chopped tomatoes, tomato paste, and spices, and let the mixture cook a bit longer.
Step 3: Stuffing the Eggplants
Place the fried eggplants in a baking tray and slit them open in the middle. Fill them with the prepared filling.
Step 4: Baking
Place a slice of tomato and pepper on each eggplant. Bake in a preheated oven at 180 degrees Celsius until the tops are browned.
Step 5: Serving
Serve the prepared karnıyarık warm, alongside rice and cacık (a Turkish yogurt and cucumber dish).
