We’ve now had a few days to process the sale of our beloved Mimi. 🥲 She was snapped up super quick and is off to a good home so we’re really happy…she’s off on a new adventure and we’re off on ours. 🥰🚐🇦🇺

A little throw back to this time last year when we did our fortnight in hotel quarantine after leaving Melbourne (you can hear alllllll about it over on our podcast…). Luckily for us we had an amazing room, food, view and overall experience . So, here’s a little rush hour time lapse on a beautiful Adelaide day!

We day tripped out to Lake MacDonnell to see the pink lake and do the photo shoot 🤪 *SPOILER ALLERT* The reeeeeeallllly beautiful stuff is just up the road at Point Sinclair! ☀️🐠
Jetty, undercover lunch spot, amazingly clear blue water and no one else around! It felt like the edge of the world (kinda is…) and was a very welcome pause from the gale force winds.

Mimi my love! It’s been a hot minute BUT we’re planning a little trip next week 🤞🤞🤞 We can’t wait to be out and about, back on the road in South Australia in our second home ♥️ AND she’s even had a little patch job done on her roof for some troublesome rust spots!

Allo! I halping, yesh?!
Nightmare battery box and van connection aside, Mimi’s van build was loads of fun and for two people who knew n o t h i n g about a n y t h i n g it came together pretty brilliantly.
Here’s a photo or two of Mark trying to figure out the battery box and how to wire it into the van’s battery so that while the car is running it charges and when Mimi is off all the power comes from this battery for the fridge, light and charging etc. Yeah, I dunno either.
Also, featuring Vince best-boy-doggo ever and on-site manager.
We love you both ♥️

Making friends! Meeting people who are just as obsessed with their home in wheels is THE BEST! As we rolled into the info centre car park we were greeted by .tour.de.tardy where we spent half an hour sharing our van build and road trip stories. Thanks Joel and Victoria for welcoming us into the and safe travels!

Our very first trip in Mimi was over to the ever beautiful . We spent our first night at the Stansbury caravan park before heading to and this is a photo of me looking very pleased with our handy work and trying to hold in the excitement to finally be able to sleep in our little home away from home!!

PROGRESS!
Here’s a couple more shots of the interior of Mimi. Once we’d finished the timber bed frame and drawers I stepped in and got my craft on! I made us up a cover for the mattress and painted a load of random things from the drawer faces to brackets and vents to bring everything together and make it look pretty. Very important! Then we took her for a spin through where we even slipped her into 4WD for the first time! Mimi loved it.
