In this scorecard, we're looking at Gabriel, the centerback Arsenal are reportedly signing from Lille for £25million. Tall, imposing and Agressive, the Center back has old school grit to go with the pace and passing ability the modern defender requires. He loved pinging long balls into Omishen last season and he'll get to do that for Aubameyang this season. His major weakness is his concentration, often leading to him leaving his marker or leaving space behind him when aggressively hunting the ball. Lead by the experienced Jose Fonte, he kept his transgressions limited last year, but expected to pair with William Saliba this season, he may struggle initially. But under the right guidance, if he can improve on that expect, there is a world class defender waiting to be unearthed. 3.0 rated out of 5 for now by Keeping Score, he's one to watch out for in that Arsenal defence.
