BBNaija 2023: Winner To Get N120 Million Prize As Organisers Announce Date it will begin

The eighth edition of the Big Brother Naija reality show will premiere July 23 as an “All-Star” show, with housemates from the seven previous editions.

Busola Tejumola, executive head of Content & West Africa Channels, MultiChoice Nigeria, disclosed this during a media briefing in Lagos on Friday.

Tejumola said the premiere would air on all Africa Magic channels: Africa Magic Urban, Showcase and Family at 7:00 p.m. WAT.

She said the show’s overall winner would walk away with N120 million prize.

“The season eight edition of the Big Brother Naija show will premiere July 23 and run till October 1, which is a 70-day show,” she said.

According to her, the housemates were selected based on their profiles and other criteria.

“We have done seven seasons, and for the eighth edition, we feel it is the best time to bring everyone who has been on the show back for an opportunity to win N120 million,” she said.

She hinted at an opportunity for 30 show fans to win N1 million each as they locked in their favourite housemate to win the show in the form of a prediction.

”The head of house challenges, arena games, pool party, and Saturday night party will all be in place to excite fans of the show.

“We have also introduced the “Black Envelope Game,” she said.

Earlier, John Ugbe, chief executive officer of MultiChoice Nigeria, noted that it had been a busy year for the organisation but promised a bigger show for the 8th Edition of BBNaija.

Man Kills Family, Mother-in-law, Commits Su***de, Blames Wife In Su***de Note

A 42-year-old father in Utah, United States, Michael Haight, has committed su***de after killing his five children, wife, and mother-in-law, leaving his family a twisted su***de note in which he confessed he would rather 'rot in hell' than deal with his manipulative wife another day.

After being investigated for child abuse, Haight shot his wife, her mother, and their five children, According to DailyMail on Saturday.

The police released the footage of the shooting, showing cops padding through the family's eerily silent home while their bodies lay inside.

In Haight's twisted su***de note, he claims his wife, Tausha, drove him to violence. Haight did so despite the fact that investigations revealed that he was the abuser in the family and his wife was the victim.

He wrote, “ This is nonsense and I can't handle it for one more day. We will not be a burden on society. I kept asking for help and you wouldn't listen. 'I would rather rot in hell than to put up with another day of this manipulation and control over me.”

Haight murdered his daughters Macie, Briley, and Sienna, as well as his sons Ammon and Gavin, and his wife's mother.

I Didn't Regret Killing My Parents For Insulting Prophet Muhammad – Nigerian Man Speaks From Police Cell

Munkaila Ahmadu, who killed his parents in Gagarawa Local Government Area of Jigawa State, said he did so because they uttered blasphemous comments against the Prophet Muhammad.

The 37-year-old singer had killed both his parents and injured two other people with a pestle in Zarada Sabuwa village in the Gagarawa Local Government Area of Jigawa State, northwest Nigeria.

According to Premium Times, the member of the Tijjaniyya Islamic sect said his parents mocked and called him a mad person and opposed him being a praise singer for the prophet.

He has now been arrested by the Nigerian police.

Ahmadu said, “I killed them because they refused to accept the truth concerning the Prophet Muhammad (SAW). I killed them because they abused the prophet and their punishment is death, there is no repentance for any person who abused the Prophet,” he was quoted as saying.

“I am a praise singer for the prophet, this year I intend to do a video for my song and God willing, I will do that, I will be free because God is with the righteous person,; that is why I am not worrying over my action.

“My parent did not like the prophet Muhammad because I adore him, they called me a mad person, I pleaded with my father to support my work (praise singing), and I told him that I don’t womanise, I am not a gambler, I don’t do drugs, and I don’t steal, but he refused to.

“My mother used to go to neighbouring towns to blackmail me, telling people to reject me whenever I came to sing praises to the prophet because I am mad and I refused to work on the farm.

“I am now in police custody because, by human thinking, I did a wrong thing but in the sight of God and the Prophet; what I did is the right thing.”

🇳🇬 Adijat Adenike Olarinoye just won Nigeria’s first ever gold medal in women’s weight lifting 🏋️‍♀️

An Iwoland born weightlifter ( Olarinoye Adijat from Olode's Compound, Ileogbo) won a gold medal for Nigeria in the ongoing Commonwealth Games in London.

Olarinoye Adijat recorded a total of 203kg in the Women's 55kg Weightlifting event.

The 203kg lift is a new Commonwealth Games record.

Although the inscription is not spelt the way supporters of the Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi spell it, the message was got.
