We begin weaving the musical gems with a collaborative project between Esperanza Spalding and Brasilian legend Milton "Bituca" Nascimento , followed by -a new all-female trio from Argentina, Haiti and Cuba-, and a six-piece band led by singer and percussionist from Brasil, AYOM. As a special gift of the show, we feature a collaboration between multiawarded singer Elena Roger and Escalandrum, led by Daniel Piazzolla in an homage to Argentinian composer María Elena Walsh: our favorite song is “Oración a la justicia” (A prayer for justice).
This show is a loving embrace to the work of women, just curated for you by Cristina Baccin (bilingual: Spanish/English).

In today´s MUSICALDO show, I feature a song to recall the 75º Anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights with the song “Liberté” by Colombian dúo Aterciopelados in a collaborative work with legendary singer Susana Baca. Then, we´ll explore new works by Chilean artists such as Ana Tijoux, Niña Tormenta and Lázuli, following with new CD “Madres” by Peruvian Sofia Kourtesis. And finally, we´ll go to tangos of the ‘900s reconstructed by Argentinian duo Placenti- Brundo.
