Escondido Mobile Home Fire. At approximately 4:20 PM, calls came in for a working fire in the 1600 block of Desert Glen in Escondido. Arriving units found heavy fire in the garage that had spread into the mobile home. two patients were transported to a nearby hospital.

Shooting Victim Found Inside Oak Park Independent Living Facility
San Diego – A 49-year-old man was found inside an Oak Park Independent Living Facility with a gunshot wound to his torso. Officer’s rendered aid to the man and medics transported him to a nearby hospital, but he did not survive the injury.
On December 22, 2024, at about 10:24p.m., officers from San Diego Police Department’s Southeastern Division responded to an independent living facility (ILF) regarding a report of a person who had been shot. The ILF, located at 3133 54th Street in the city of San Diego, is in the Oak Park neighborhood near Redwood Street. Once on scene officers located the victim, described as a 49-year-old black man, with a single gunshot wound to his torso. His name is not being released at this time pending family notifications. Officers performed CPR on the man until medics took over and transported the man to a nearby hospital but unfortunately, he did not survive the injury.
At least nine people were inside the facility at the time of the incident and detectives are working towards interviewing them all and identifying exactly where the shooting took place. Investigators will be collecting and reviewing security video from the area. Thus far, there is no suspect description to provide.

Traffic was backed up in both directions while the investigation took place.
