We did our very first episode on The Exorcist. Our name comes from a news reporter who was was interviewing people on their "visceral reactions" about the film. And of course our theme music is very much inspired by the score of the Exorcist

We probably wouldn't be here today, giving you content that we love to do, if it wasn't for William Friedkin.

Rest in peace to William Friedkin, an absolute titan of not only our particular genre, but of cinema itself. Well done, sir.

BON JEUDI GRAS! Sure, we're two days past Mardi Gras, but Jeudi Gras is for everyone too hungover to realize what day it is. Lucky for you, one of the best remedies is listening to Matthew and Quinton talk about MARDI GRAS MASSACRE (1978)

Click the link https://kite.link/rJ3drOt and grab a drink!

"Laisse rouler les bons coeurs." Bienvenue et bon Mardi Gras! To celebrate the Carnival season, Matthew and Quinton discuss none other than Jack Weis' sleaze-classic: MARDI GRAS MASSACRE. Offering enough nudity and bloodshed to warrant an X rating in the US and a years-long ban in the UK, Mardi Gras Massacre shows that even the cleaner parts of the French Quarter are still often stained with blood.

An out-of-towner visits the Quarter in the weeks preceding Mardi Gras, but he's got a different idea of fun. One that involves sacrificing the most "evil" of s*x workers at the altar of a ancient Aztec death goddess. As more girls disappear, it's up to a former vice squad detective to track down this sadistic butcher of women.

After a brief overview of some Mardi Gras history, Matthew and Quinton talk on the merits of this oft-unseen film, how it depicts the everyday horrors of the lives of women, and how cities and an influx of visitors can sometimes provide a feeding frenzy for new age Jack the Ripper hopefuls. Join us for some personal Mardi Gras stories and firsthand accounts of some of the film's locations. You might be from elsewhere, but you'll certainly leave your heart behind in New Orleans!

Dracula 2000 is the best take on the Dracula story since Coppola’s 1992 masterpiece.

Set in New Orleans 23 years ago this week, the Wes Craven-produced feature gives us a Dracula both contemporary and timeless. An erotic, violent, romantic, antichrist potential that only Coppola’s film dared to explore, a new millennium doesn’t take the bite away from Stoker’s 100+year old vampire.

Steven Spielberg’s start in television doesn’t get enough attention. In addition to a handful of other shows, episodes of Night Gallery, Columbo, Marcus Welby M.D., and The Name of the Game, all for Universal Television, paved the way for a trio of telefilms: SOMETHING EVIL, SAVAGE, and, of course DUEL.

Audiences had no clue that in a few years this 1955 Peterbilt 281 tanker with a Cat engine would make its way from the highways of the American West to just off the shore of Massachusetts. Except when it resurfaced, it would have a lot more teeth and a lot less wheels.

Watching Spielberg’s work in television makes for an even greater understanding and appreciation of THE SUGARLAND EXPRESS and JAWS.

See for yourself by catching DUEL on MeTV’s very own Svengoolie, the way it was meant to be seen: at home, on your couch, where the truck can’t find you…

Tonight, Feb. 18, on MeTV, Svengoolie
