GOOD THINGS🦄
In this episode we have decided to talk about good things. Is it possible to stay on the positive side of life while people in Ukraine are dying in senseless war? Is the talk about the weather necessarily "small talk"? Can we plan anything more than a few days in advance or have our lives inevitably changed during the past two years?

THE WAR
Jelena and Uri discuss positions of Serbia, Montenegro and Israel towards Ukraine, but also talk about how Jewish umbrella organisations and communities are handling, as we already refer to it, World War III.

Russian aggression on Ukraine opened many old wounds for the people in the Balkans but for Israelis as well. Hero of the moment and moral leader of the free world Volodymyr Zelensky is Jewish. Both in Jerusalem and in former Yugoslavia people suffer from constant state of tension since the fear of a...

This year Jelena got more than a few Christmas greetings from her Jewish friends around the world. She was not sure how to respond, since Christmas is not exactly our holiday... Uri has some ideas and solution to this situation. Also, Jelena visited famous Advent in Zagreb (Croatia) and truly recommends this experience. But there is another interesting thing: Montenegro and Serbia are countries that celebrate New Year according to Gregorian and Christmas according to Julian calendar. This is whole lotta holidays, if we include Hannukah.
So, when do we celebrate New Year and how to respond to Xmas greetings? Can you really eat and drink from Hannukah to Julian New Year :)

Paul is 51 and he is not really the usual suspect for this type of lists.

We talk about our favourite places in the world…Yugoslavia, where Jelena was born doesn’t exist anymore, how does one cope with that? Uri came to Israel from Argentina when he was a kid, but does he feel Argentinian at all?
New York of course is on Uri’s list but Jelena begs to differ: Jelena is more of a “West Coast person”, because she loves the sun and the ocean. Uri’s favourite city is his Jerusalem, and Jelena is explaining how important for all Montenegrins is the little town of Cetinje. Uri prefers to roam around Barcelona, off the beaten path…Why does Jelena like Dohany Synagogue in Budapest, what is so fascinating there?
Bucket list…One place where you want to go for some special occasion?
Our show starts with „hot war“ aka global warming and climate summit in Glasgow. Who will save us from ourselves? Scientist, yes. But with the help of politicians or philanthropists?
Soundtrack: Suzanne Vega, David Bowie, Astor Piazzola, Manic Street Preachers…

Jerusalem-Podgorica...🇮🇱🇲🇪Second part of the "Identity" episode is now online. We talk about new James Bond and why had Daniel Craig decided to do "The Scottish Play" (euphemism for Macbeth) immediately after 007. We return to the topic of Judaism, different streams and denominations and does separating men and women creates or builds s*xual tension?

In the next two episodes we talk about an old and complicated question of identity.
Whether you belong to Jewish diaspora or live in Eretz Yisrael, where you come from defines you. Jelena often has to answer how she can be both Montenegrin and Jewish and live in Belgrade, because these "cases" are not so typical for the Balkans.
Uri was born in Argentina, in Buenos Aires.
What is "double loyalty" and why are Jews in diaspora sometimes accused of not being true-hearted towards their native countries.
Also, we are discuss the phenomenon of "Squid Game" series.

A bar joke is a very common and basic type of joke cycle. One of the earliest examples of bar jokes is Sumerian (c. 4500–1900 BC), and it features a dog: "A dog walked into a tavern and said, 'I can't see a thing. I'll open this one'." The humor of it is probably related to the Sumer way of life and has been lost, but the words remain.
