**content warning: this post contains stats about sexual assault**

Consent is mandatory. No means no, no is a full sentence. Silence means no. We need to teach consent in order to decrease the prevalence of sexual assault in our communities.

It is essential that we move past race-based discrimination in order the build healthier communities and find solutions for the many challenges our world faces. It is essential that BIPOC leaders feel safe to contribute to their communities meaningfully. This means understanding critical race theory and how our society, education, and experiences have shaped how we view and treat people of colour.
--
Racism is a pandemic that keeps our communities from being healthy and experiencing the wealth and abundance that diversity provides. We all have a shared human experience and deserve to feel safe and welcome in our communities.

"Will you break the bias to and beyond?"
--
When we become aware of our bias of others based on their gender, age, sexuality, religion, education level, or what else makes them different we can be aware of how we treat others and make a conscious effort to live with more compassion.
--
Anisa Nandaula talks about being conscious of our bias and more in her beautiful spoken word piece:

Imagine a gender-equal world.
A world free of bias, stereotypes, and discrimination.
A world that is diverse, equitable, and inclusive.
A world where difference is valued and celebrated.
Together we can forge women's equality.
Collectively we can all .

Kind people are the best kind of people. ❤
--
Let's be real - it's been a tough couple of years for everyone (unless you're a fortune 500 business-owner) and we could all use a little kindness.
--
I encourage you to practice being kind everyday but challenge you to go out of your way to be extra kind today to someone in your life, a stranger or the one we often forget to be kindest to... ourselves. I appreciate you and hope your tea stays hot and you get to pet a dog today. 😍

Today we celebrate 👥
--
Every person has the right to belong and contribute their gifts and skills to their communities and families. People with Disabilities have so many valued roles to play in our community, and it is imperative that we invite people to share their contributions. 🤝
--
The inclusion movement advocates for actively inviting people with Disabilities into mainstream community venues to support relationship, capacity, and confidence-building. The idea is that people are more than the label their disability diagnosis has given them and that their unique contribution helps foster healthy communities.
--
Inclusion does not mean segregating people with Disabilities to their own program separate or within a larger environment, but rather inviting people into mainstream settings and offering support to ensure accessibility.

Jack and Lynda highlight an important conversation:

When we talk about Inclusion it is important to consider how white supremacy informs Inclusion of traditionally marginalized groups - what we are looking to include excluded folks in? A community and society built by the dominant largely white culture.

"Even this framing of ‘welcoming’ has white superiority subconsciously embedded because we are ALL born in. But in our dominant largely white culture, we presume superiority, and by implication, the inferiority of and sub-human categories and labels for “others”. Unlearning such prejudice, and relearning that we are all equal and all human, is a massive lifelong task."

We have begun using the word "citizenship" as part of our core future agenda for people because our term “inclusion” has been watered down, institutionalized – colonized – until it too often misses the core objective of full participation and membership in the community. The journey to ‘...
