I styled these looks based off of different stages of relationships, for me at least it tracks pretty well of casual & wanting to look cute, honeymoon / in love and wanting to glam up, and feeling comfortable to dress more casually ☺️

truth be told though 3.5 years into my relationship I still wanna get all dressed up & look pretty always hehe but I definitely don’t feel pressure or feel like Kai won’t find me pretty anymore 🙊

Galentine’s Day: for the girl’s girl!! if you have galentine’s plans I’d recommend / wear something coquette, think bows and pink and all the feminine vibes 🎀

Talking Stage: casual yet feminine aesthetic, when you wanna try to look cute but not TOO hard 🤭 I used to opt for cuter looks over other styles!

Honeymoon Phase: the stage where you wanna look good / hot / anything in between 😉 think feminine chic, bold, and flirty looks!

Veteran Couple Stage: where you feel more comfortable with your partner and can wear whatever you want / if you don’t wanna dress up you don’t have to! maybe more mature and put together styles, business casual and k-drama vibes etc.

working in fashion was a faraway dream of mine & I actually achieved it which means you can too!!!!☺️
**these are my own personal tips that worked best for me, everyone has their own journey / way of approaching career progression so pls keep that in mind / don’t take this as the end all be all guide book 😌

context: after graduating college I didn’t really know what I wanted to do - I studied international relations but didn’t want to go into that realm 😅 I took the first job that I could / the only place that accepted my application lol and ended up working in strategy consulting for a few years

after some time working and continuing my content creation I thought about entering the retail industry as a next step, which gave me the opportunity to look into fashion (my hobby) as an actual career path!!
my friends & family know this but the ~6 months(?) leading up to my current job was so hectic and stressful - lots of studying on the fashion industry, reaching out to people within my network (mostly school alumni) and trying to balance my full-time consulting job with applying to jobs after work 😭 BUT it was totally worth it and I am super thankful for where I am today ☺️

the tips I posted here are the ones that I believe got me to where I am! I won’t sugarcoat and say it’ll be easy if you follow the steps, but if you put your mind to it and really focus in on getting the job you want, there’s a good chance that you’ll land it 🤍

the main thing is to be confident!! show up to interviews with a clear mission and interest and the conversation will go great - just remember the following questions to really make your application shine:

1. develop a strong personal statement - who are you and why are you the most qualified for the job?
2. do your research - why do you want to work in fashion / a specific fashion company?
3. invest in learning - even if you come from a totally unrelated field, what steps have you taken to make sure that you’re a strong candidate?
4. network like crazy - who do you look up to and who do you want to learn from?

these are my top winter must-haves that I’ve been wearing all season so far to stay warm and stylish🤭

1. fur coat - you guys know I’ve been so obsessed with fur for the past couple months hehe my newest one is from .official !! very very cute and I love the greige color as well hehe

2. off the shoulder sweater - a classic for your wardrobe!! could also be added as part of a capsule wardrobe depending on your preferences 😌 I love these sweaters bc they give such a feminine vibe to any look, and can pair so easily with jeans and heels!

3. wool coat - super versatile and honestly so functional lol I inherited this from my mom 🥹 she got it from but gave it to me when I moved to sf🤍

4. sweater dress - easiest outfit for winter!! keeps you warm, is trendy, can dress up or down, the list goes on🤭 I got this one from a sample sale at work hehe

are there any closet pieces you think I missed?? these make me feel in trend, stylish, and confident when I have them in my closet so I’d definitely recommend investing in quality pieces!

my in’s and themes for the rest of this winter are more fur / faux fur, classy yet trendy, fashion-forward pieces, etc. 🙊

Part 5: Knowing Your Body Type | keep reading if you wanna ✨spice up✨ your style in 2025 without breaking the bank!! 🤭
LAST PART!! tysm for following along, you can find parts 1-4 on my profile 🥰

this one is super super important if you want to understand what styles look good on you and why! did my best to do general style tips for 5 key body types, but also keep in mind that there are other shapes & sizes that I haven’t included here for the sake of a concise post - you can browse on Pinterest or do a quick search online to see more details on other body shapes 🤍

I personally identify the most with a rectangle body type, which typically involves a more athletic build, smaller chest, and less curves overall while maintaining a slimmer line 🙊 to best style my body, I tend to focus on accentuating my waist and making my body look curvier through wide leg pants + small top combo

keep reading for descriptions of the other body types! all descriptions are just my personal opinion based on things I’ve read and seen online so please do take with a grain of salt 😌

THE APPLE: larger bust, rounded figure, shoulders & hips proportional to larger hips

THE PEAR: shoulders & hips often smaller than bottom, wider hips and thighs, smaller waistline

THE INVERTED TRIANGLE: broader shoulders, small waist & hips, athletic “swimmer build”

THE RECTANGLE: shoulders & hips proportional to legs, smaller waist and bust, less curvy

THE HOURGLASS: smaller waist, larger hips, shoulders proportional to hips

Part 4: Mixing Aesthetics | keep reading if you wanna ✨spice up✨ your style in 2025 without breaking the bank!!🤭

this one is more about being creative rather than strategic with proportions or layering - mixing style aesthetics is a fun way to (1) create entirely new outfits with old clothes and (2) experiment with fits to find your style!

for me, I think I definitely mix sporty with something the most, whether that’s coquette (first pic), preppy, chic, etc. I like to see which aesthetics work well with each other! it gives a whole new dimension to styling imho😌

some aesthetics I think go really well together always:
- preppy + coquette
- sporty + minimal
- street style + girly

some aesthetics that I definitely wanna try mixing:
- boho + edgy
- corporate core + ballet core
- old money + sporty

this is a really helpful tip to expand your closet! because for example, you can go from one entirely neutral outfit to one neutral + slightly edgy, one neutral + edgy combined, and one slightly neutral + edgy outfit instantly 👀

experimenting with styles is something I wanna do more this year so I encourage you to do the same!!! excited to see everyone’s fits ☺️

this is the ultimate hack on looking your very best!! it’s all about knowing your proportions (and body type, TBD on that post!) and styling in a way that accentuates your strengths while toning down any insecurities you have ☺️

my entire life I’ve struggled with loving my legs because they are shorter and stubbier than I’d like, but I learned that it’s quite easy to make myself look tall, slim, etc. by wearing the right clothes that suit my proportions!!

you’ll RARELY see me in low-waisted jeans because I don’t wanna look any shorter lol, and I also have a longer torso so I like to shorten it by wearing crop tops and balance it out by lengthening my legs!!

fellow petite girlies istg you’ll make yourself look INCHES taller with the right pants & top combo🤭 but in summary:

- the shorter the legs, the higher waisted the pants (& vice versa)
- the longer the torso, the shorter the top (& vice versa)
- find a balance between your upper and lower body (if one is shorter make it longer, if one is longer make it shorter)
- kind reminder that it’s all about wearing what makes you comfortable and confident!!

2025 so far ❄️☃️☺️
how was your new years celebrations? mine was (& still is) very fun in Tahoe but my knee has been giving me more trouble so was unable to go out to bars, and ended up falling asleep around 11pm lolol but Kai woke me up around 12:15 to say HNY🤣

we’ve been enjoying snowy weather but it’s back to the city today!! being injured in a not-home environment has made it hard to be motivated for a “new year new me” mentality, but had a couple days to think about how I wanna approach my New Year’s resolutions 😌

Part 2: Styling Clothes the Wrong Way | keep reading if you wanna ✨spice up✨ your style in 2025 without breaking the bank!!🤭

I LOVE this style tip, it easily makes one piece of clothing have 2-3 different purposes! one that I use a lot (which I’m sure you can tell by the pics lol) is taking my skirt and styling it as a top or a dress depending on the length! in a way it gives you a “new” piece of clothing that you can make an entirely different outfit with, so it makes your ootd’s less repetitive 🙊

I’ve seen some very extreme versions of this like wearing jeans as a top, which I haven’t tried but hoping to maybe try it out in the new year 👀

my basic rule of thumb for this tip is:
- if you have an elastic waistband, it can easily turn into a top of dress
- anything with a tie detail can be added onto your top (like a necktie)
- button pieces are easy to combine and make into a skirt or accessories!
- when in doubt, a top or sweater will probably work backwards or upside down! and cropped too hehe

Part 1: Layering | keep reading if you wanna ✨spice up✨ your style in 2025 without breaking the bank!!🤭
I have found myself being very very envious of girlies and influencers who literally have OVERFLOWING closets with endless options, but realized this is unrealistic for me because (1) my personality would never ever allow me to have such a crowded closet and (2) I hate promoting overconsumption 🙄 WHICH IS WHY I wanted to start this little mini series!!

PSA you can have a rotating closet and unique outfits without buying the latest and trendiest pieces every season!

layering has saved me and created so many new outfits for me 🤭 and it’s actually very easy, there’s no set rules on what you can and can’t layer so it gives you a lot of creative freedom too! but if you don’t know where to start, this series is for you hehe

RULE OF 3: to get the most out of a layered outfit, remember to always have a base, main, and top layer✨

base layer: something that will keep you warm (in colder seasons) and be slightly visible - this is good to incorporate a pop of color, and add some level of division between different pieces of your fit so it doesn’t seem boring!

main layer: the most prominent piece, the main character of your fit! something that you love and makes you feel confident, and something you wanna show off thru the ootd 😤

top layer: possible most important! includes all accessories, anything to top off the outfit and add more bling / pizazz / fab / whatever you wanna call it 🤭 the top layer will round out your fit and hopefully make it elevated!
