🔥In a complex engineering operation, we were able to trap a Zionist force, leave them dead and wounded in an elaborate ambush inside a building that was booby-trapped using an F16 missile launched by the enemy towards the homes of the safe people, but it did not explode. Our engineers worked to activate it and detonate it by force in the vicinity of the Dawlat Junction, south of the Zaytoun neighborhood in Gaza City.

THE KAABA.
The Kaaba is a very important place for Muslims in Mecca. Long ago, Prophet Ibrahim and his son Isma'il built it as a special place to pray to God. Every year, lots and lots of Muslims go there for a special journey called Hajj. The Kaaba is covered with a big black cloth that has words from the Quran on it. This reminds everyone that all Muslims are like one big family. When Muslims pray, they face the Kaaba. It makes them feel close to God and reminds them to be kind and helpful to each other, no matter where they're from. So, the Kaaba is not just a building, it's a special place that brings Muslims together in their faith.

Report of coup scare fake, act of disinformation — FG.
The Federal Government, yesterday, dismissed a report of a coup scare in the country, saying it was unequivocally false and a heinous act of disinformation.

The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, who made the position of government known, said the report was the figment of the warped imagination of detractors, whose malicious intent was to destabilise the country and undermine the present administration.

Idris said the government would neither be distracted nor intimidated into abandoning the ongoing reforms aimed at rejuvenating the economy and creating a pathway of prosperity for the citizenry.

He said it was now evident that some desperate individuals had resorted to publishing fake news to erode public trust in the government and sow the seed of discord in the country.

He urged the public to exercise discernment and refrain from spreading or amplifying the unfounded report, which was being strategically planted on some pliant and compromised news platforms to subvert the nation’s democracy.

Man allegedly kills pastor inside church in Osun.

An Information reaching us has it that a pastor in charge of Celestial Church of Christ, Grace of Comfort Parish, Omitoto, in Osun State, Moris Fadehan, has been reported to have been murdered inside his church by one of his assistants, Lekan Ogundipe.

Sources revealed that the suspect drew the attention of the people to the presence of the partly burnt remains of the pastor inside the church on Monday.

,It was gathered that Ogundipe, after committing the act, ran to the house of the founder of the church, whose name could not be immediately ascertained, and told him that fire was burning the pastor. It was also learnt that a resident of Omitoto where the church is located was also told by Ogundipe that fire was burning the pastor and upon arriving at the scene, observed blood on the dress of the suspect, and drew the attention of the founder of the church to his observation.

It was also gathered that the same man called the police, whose operatives deployed to the scene, and subsequently arrested the suspect.

_____It was not immediately clear the issues between Ogundipe and Fadehan that could have led to the murder of the deceased.

9 DIE, 7 INJURED IN LAGOS-ABEOKUTA EXPRESSWAY ACCIDENT

No fewer than nine persons were confirmed dead, while seven others sustained injuries in an accident involving a truck and a Mazda bus at Kere Bridge on the Lagos-Abeokuta expressway.

Spokesperson of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Ogun, Mrs Florence Okpe, confirmed the incident to newsmen in Abeokuta on Tuesday.

Okpe said that the incident, which occurred at 8:00 a.m., was caused by speeding and route violations, which led to a head-on collision between the truck, without a registration number and the bus, marked SMK 808 YD.

She stated that a total of 17 persons were involved, comprising seven men, nine women, and one female child.

“Unfortunately, nine persons were recorded dead from the crash, comprising five men and four women,” she said.

The FRSC spokesperson said that the injured victims had been taken to the General Hospital in Ijaye, Abeokuta, while the deceased were deposited at the same hospital.

She further stated that the Sector Commander, Anthony Uga, cautioned motorists against route violations and speeding, noting the enormous dangers associated with the two offences.

N10bn fraud: Ex-Kwara gov spends second night with EFCC

The immediate-past governor of Kwara State, Alhaji Abdulfattah Ahmed, has spent a second night in the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, which is grilling him over alleged N10bn misappropriation.

Ahmed reported on Monday morning at the Ilorin zonal office of the EFCC and was not allowed to return home.

Inquiries by The PUNCH on Tuesday indicated that the anti-graft agency did not release him on Tuesday.

His Chief Press Secretary, Alhaji AbdulWahab Oba, confirmed his visit to the EFCC office on Monday.

“Dr Ahmed’s visit to the EFCC is procedural and routine. He was invited and he honoured them as he’s always done. He’s always ready to respond to any query or question regarding his tenure as a governor of the state.”

Oba confirmed to The PUNCH on Tuesday night that his principal was still in the EFCC custody.

“Yes, he is still with the EFCC and we are now in a dilemma over the issue because they keep changing the goalpost during the match. The case is taking a new dimension, which we don’t really understand for now.

The funds, they said, were in connection with some projects executed in the state during Ahmed’s tenure.

“It is a preliminary investigation, so it is too early to say that this is what happened to the money. Investigations are still ongoing, so it is when investigations have been concluded that one can say this is exactly what happened to the money. But for now, it is just preliminary investigation,” one of the sources told The PUNCH.

Ahmed was governor of Kwara State between 2011 and 2019.

In 2021, a team of EFCC operatives questioned Ahmed at the headquarters of the anti-graft agency in the Jabi area of Abuja, concerning an alleged diversion of funds, amounting to N9bn, from the coffers of the Kwara State government.

The Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, has warned Ndigbo not to protest against economic hardship that has befallen the land, noting that southerners have gone through the worst economic crisis during the war.

The organisation made this known in a statement obtained by Vanguard on Tuesday. Going spiritual, Emma Powerful, the spokesperson of the organisation said that the current hardship in the country is as a result of the injustices against the Igbo during and after the war.
