1st Hurricane chase with Dorothy 2 is in the books! What a rush! Category 1 Hurricane Ian was one heck of a ride and I would honestly do it again! Hopefully no time soon though! Dorothy 2 has now proven to be able to withstand hurricane force winds outside and within the eye wall where the strongest winds occur! Definitely an accomplishment in my book! Yesterday was an experience and a half!

Will deploy the Dorothy 2 anemometer to record wind speeds and gusts once I get to a location! Can’t believe I’m chasing a Hurricane!

Some important times you need know about. The National Hurricane Center issues updates on tropical storms and hurricanes every 3 hours. All of the updates have new information on the location and intensity, but only the 5 AM, 11 AM, 5 PM and 11 PM updates will have an updated forecast track. Keep that in mind these next few days and check in around those times for the latest.

A cold front will move across the area today and may spark a severe storm or two. Not everyone will see rain, but if you do, storms will have the potential for damaging winds. Stay weather aware! ⛈️

Good morning! A Marginal Risk of severe weather is possible for much of SC and southeastern NC today. Isolated, brief tornadoes and damaging winds are the main concerns with any of the stronger storms. Not everyone will get severe weather. As always, sever weather is possible, but not guaranteed. Stay weather aware! Dorothy 2 and I will head south soon.
