The Humans of James River Podcast is a platform for people to share their story in a non-judgmental environment.

This podcast is a Capstone Project run by a senior, Irelyn Rogan, in the Center for Leadership and International Relations at James River HS.

Episode 3 is now out on all platforms!! In this episode, Sarah and Katherine chat with Jalen Pritchett, a senior at James River who uses his passion for dancing and singing to overcome strife and express himself. We hope y’all can give it a listen and enjoy hearing Jalens story as much as we did!

Introducing our first mini episode! Mini episodes will be posted the week between every “main episode” posted. Each mini episode will be an interview of a 2023 capstone happening at James River, we will talk about what they are doing and why they are doing it. Our first mini episode is Brooke Long and Raigan Kelley’s capstone which is “Heroes on the Diamond.” In this episode we discuss their lives growing up with military and 1st responders in their families and how they wanted to give back to that community. We will also talk about their intention of creating a place for teens, first responders, and military to bond.

Hey everyone! My name is Rithika Bhagavatula and I am the host of Season 4!!
I’m so excited for this opportunity and I can’t wait to get started! I know there are amazing stories at James River and I’m so honored to help share them. If you are interested in sharing your story the form in the HOJR bio is now accepting responses, but please do not hesitate to reach out to me in my DMs. Most recordings will take place during Rapid Time/after school, but I am open to record before the school year starts.
I’m so happy I get to continue this amazing project and I’m looking forward to all the big things coming this year!

It’s finally here everyone! Episode 7 (AKA the final episode of Humans of James River) is up on the HOJR website! I have a special guest for this one… Mr. Nabors, the AP English Literature teacher on “fourth street”. He is going to talk not only about the pandemic and how things have been this year both for teachers and students as a result, but also any advice he has for rising freshman, graduating seniors, and everyone in between! Thank you all so much for the support this year, and I hope you all enjoy this final episode.
