The Wandertogs Scott Erb and Donna Dufault AKA The Wandertogs or Wandering Photographers. We create digital content on the road while we travel across America Yes, everything.

It all began with “Can we talk?” moment with Scotty who was sitting in the living room of our beautiful home. Then I uttering those fateful words: “Let's sell everything and just go." A deep desire for travel had always lingered within us since the day we got married. SO, after covid almost killed our photography business, especially our food and hospitality work, we knew we needed to pivot. To re

invent ourselves. We’re Scott and Donna and we took the plunge, selling everything. Now, after a full year of dwelling in our new home on wheels, we are just beginning to taste the sweetness of living out our lifelong dream. The path ahead was strewn with challenges, selling the house and all our stuff was just the start. We blew up our lives. We bade a sad goodbye to a business we had meticulously crafted over decades! And said a farewell to cherished friends. All who stood by us through thick and thin. It was profoundly challenging. The trials and tribulations of life on the road have been undeniably real. Getting Vanny stuck in a river bed where we had no cell service. To Donna falling off a tall rock at City of Rocks in New Mexico and injuring her right leg. Along the way, we have taken photos of everything. We are creating new art projects and portfolios. We are beating back that big empty hole in our hearts that was feeling overwhelming and desperate. We are feeling alive again. We are feeling strong. We most of all, are feeling creative.

While in MA, we had the pleasure of visiting the amazing the New Salem Museum and Academy of Fine Art! 🎨 If you haven’t been, you’ve got to check it out. Nestled in charming New Salem, this museum is dedicated to contemporary realism, and it’s filled with stunning works by today’s masters alongside pieces by legends like John Singer Sargent and Andrew Wyeth.

The diverse collection is breathtaking, from incredible portraits to gorgeous landscapes—every piece left us feeling inspired and captivated. Plus, the museum also offers workshops and classes, making it a fantastic spot for artists to refine their skills while enjoying the beauty of rural New England. If you're into art or just love a good day trip, this place is a must-see. Go get inspired! 🖼️💫

Experiencing the Northern Lights at Cline Spit Community Beach County Park in Sequim, WA, was nothing short of surreal. Cline Spit itself is a serene location, tucked along Dungeness Bay, where visitors typically come to enjoy its 240 feet of public tidelands, peaceful beach access, and stunning vie

What a night! ✨📸
We had the absolute pleasure of reconnecting with a group of intrepid photographers here in MA—old friends who share our passion for capturing the world through a lens. There’s nothing like gathering for an evening of storytelling through our photos, sharing our journeys, and talking about the creative process that drives us.

Everyone brought such a diverse and beautiful array of work—each piece captivating in its own way, inspiring us all to keep pushing our creativity. It’s moments like these that remind us why we love what we do! 🖤 #

108 Days Later… 🚐
It’s hard to put into words what the 108 days it took to get our van fixed were like this past summer, in fact - I debated about sharing the story here at all... The truth is that waiting for our van to get fixed while being stuck in the stunning yet isolating Olympic National Park area. We found ourselves in the middle of the wilderness—beautiful, yes, but also battling the frustration and uncertainty of van life gone awry. Plans unraveled, dreams had to be put on hold, and there were days when figuring out where to sleep felt like our biggest challenge. Some nights, we weren’t even sure where we’d end up. 🏞️ (sometimes we ended up sleeping the the dealership parking lot since we had no place to go!)

We couldn’t have made it through without the help of friends and family, who put us up and kept us going when things felt especially tough. Their kindness and generosity will never be forgotten. In between van repairs and changing plans, we did our best to explore the beauty of the Pacific Northwest, working in libraries from Port Angeles to Portland, OR, to Seattle - taking in the sights, and leaning into the uncertainty!!!

But honestly? It wasn’t easy. There were dark days when the stress of it all felt like too much, when we questioned everything, and when depression hit hard.

🖤 We had to pivot, change course, and adapt in ways we never expected. But through it all, we learned so much about ourselves, our resilience, and the strength of our friendships. Thank you all for your love and support through it all!! You know who you are... YES YOU!

Now, after months of overcoming every obstacle in our way, we’re finally back on the road. Grateful for the experiences we had, the lessons we learned, and the people who helped us through it. Here's to new adventures, stronger friendships, and the open road ahead.

While we’ve loved every moment of hiking in New England’s stunning fall—crisp air, vibrant colors, and great friends—it’s time to chase the sun! 🌞☀️ We’re heading south to escape the winter chill, looking for warmth and new adventures. Who knows, maybe we’ll see some of you along the way! 🤩👋

Hello FB peoples! I've created a Youtube channel that shows my art process of inking images. Some of the images I use photo references on that I have taken and some are AI generated through Midjourney (until my drawing skills get better) like this one, and some I make on my own of my own pencil drawings. I'm still learning and as I know, consistency and focused practice are how I will get better. There are several videos up already and have had many views. I hope you enjoy them and find that art is very meditative, even if you are watching someone else create. Cheers!

I'm happy to have you all on my art journey of learning and creating!

Here's a a couple shots from my Fine Art Portrait series I created with my friends Cynthia Woehrle and Todd Rawley. These images were shot in my friend Dana Lane's studio. We had a great time shooting and I typically don't let my clients have much input, but Cindy had some specific ideas. I typically find concepts and ideas related to the subjects that really reflect their personalities. On the technical side, I used Midjourney for the backgrounds and only used one softbox for the lighting and a reflector (if necessary) with a clean background to clip them out from. I use many layers to create this effect. It takes me several days to create one of these. I've had some people mention that the cost is difficult for them, but this is a Fine Art piece, not a commercial image that I can do quickly. I spend hours and sometimes days creating these images. It's not for everybody, but I hope that I can build a clientele that see's and appreciates what I can offer.

RIP James Earl Jones. For me, the voice of my generation. As a Star Wars fan at the age of 7yrs old, his voice was one of the darkest, and scariest, but also the voice that influenced my life the most at that time. Since then, his performances as Thulsa Doom in Conan, and so many more were integrated into my life. It was nice to grow up with you fine Sir and May the Force Be With You!!❤️

My Etsy shop is up, however it needs a lot of work. I don't have any originals up yet or prints, but I have many of my rocks and rock formation t-shirts up. My shop will continue to evolve and change as I move forward. I also have my Youtube channel up that shows me inking my designs. Any comments or suggestions are welcome. Please understand it's a work in progress. Thanks!

During our travels, I've found myself captivated by the incredible rock formations we've encountered, each one a masterpiece of texture, color, and detail. One place that left a lasting impression on me was Whidbey Island at Deception Pass. The rocks there hold a kind of rugged beauty that I couldn't resist capturing through my lens.

This fascination has sparked a new idea—using these rock images to create all-over print t-shirts that blend abstraction with a unique form of natural camouflage. The designs are both subtle and striking, offering a fresh way to appreciate the intricate patterns found in nature.

For those who share a love of rocks, whether you’re a geologist, a rock enthusiast, or simply someone who finds beauty in texture and color, these t-shirts might just speak to you. This is a new concept I'm exploring, and I'd love to hear your thoughts and feedback on this idea.

Thanks for being a part of this journey with me!

So, I started a Youtube channel for my art journey. I've posted a few videos of me inking some art work. I started out with just short 5 min videos, but I've moved to almost hour long videos. According to my analytics Youtube provides, it seems the long format videos do much better. AAAAAnnnnnnd, these are doing so much better than any of the photography videos I had posted. I'm not sure what that means, but I'm enjoying that people are liking the videos. Anyway, here's the link to my Youtube channel in case anyone cares. LOL.

Join me, Scott Erb, a 54 year old photographer who is learning to draw, as I dive into the intricate process of inking over an underdrawing created in Midjourney AI. In this video, I share my journey of learning how to draw by utilizing modern digital tools like Midjourney AI and Photoshop. Watch as...

Had. Great time walking around downtown Portland Oregon yesterday. We went to several cool locations like Cargo Inc of Portland and Memory Den. Both cool places. We also went to the infamous Portland Night Market as well! They had a great food truck area with a live DJ! We also stopped at Smith Teamaker (SE Washington Tasting Room)! Wow! What a great day

Spent some time at Ruby Beach in Washinton State. Part of the Olympic National Park, it is one of the most southern beaches of the park. Lots of driftwood and people, however, I did not see one shiny vampire or teenage werewolves anywhere. Oh well. Maybe next time. LOL

You'll see a shot of Donna with our friend Kathy and her dog Luna with us as well.
