At least three persons have been confirmed dead after an illegal mining pit caved in on them in Bremang in the Upper Denkyira West District of the Central Region on Wednesday 26 May.

Multiple media sources say the dead include two women and a man.



“At this time, we have been able to retrieve only three bodies and they have been handed over to the police,” Assembly member for Breman, Francis Agyapong, told Akoma FM.

“We pray that we can remove them on time to save them, but those we have even retrieved have already died so we are helpless and don’t even know what to do,” he added.

Eyewitnesses say close to 15 others remained trapped in the pit as locals join a team of police and disaster officials from the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) to rescue them.

The police are yet to comment on the incident.

Ghana has recently renewed the fight against illegal mining in the country by deploying soldiers to protect water bodies.

Operation Halt II has resulted in the destruction of several mining equipment including the burning of excavators at galamsey sites in the Central, Eastern and Western regions in particular

Sarkodie rates Eno Barony next to him

According to rapper Sarkodie, Ghanaian female rap musician Eno Barony is as excellent as any other rapper in the country, and it's a bit unjust to categorize her as a female rapper.

Eno has managed to carve a niche for herself in a male-dominated field.

Sarkodie couldn't help but praise Eno Barony's ability to sling powerful bars in ways you wouldn't anticipate from a female singer during an interview on Akwaaba Talk Show.

He said: “Eno Barony is like a full rapper. I don’t see her as a female rapper, I see her as an MC. When I say female rapper you can feel the feminine energy… rap has to be heard and Eno Barony is hard so I don’t see her as a female rapper. She is just a rapper.”
He continued: “She goes in hard with the bars… the stuff she says, guys could’ve got away with that easy but she still does it. As rappers, we have our state of mind when we are writing and when I listen to her that’s what I see.”

Crime: Man Baths Wife with Acid After Throwing Her Out
A young man who is currently in police for allegedly pouring acid on his wife .

In a Facebook post by CRIME CHECK TV ,indicates that the victim who has been identified as Florence was sacked out of their matrimonial home after she had a misunderstanding with the husband.
According to the post , the said husband went pleading for his wife to come back , only for him to attack her with an acidic substance in the bathroom
