CAR IN GARAGE CAUGHT ON FIRE, VICTORY (July 8, 2024)

This afternoon crews from Victory, Conquest, Cato, Ira, Fair Haven, Red Creek, Hannibal, CIMVAC Ambulance and Fair Haven Ambulance were dispatched to Duck Lake Road in the Victory fire district for a car in a garage that had caught fire.

Crews arrived quickly to a fully involved structure fire.

One fire fighter was treated at the scene for heat exhaustion.

Thank you to all that responded. We apologize if we did not list everyone who responded to the fire.

BOX TRUCK FIRE ON ROUTE 34 NORTH, CATO (July 8, 2024)

Early this morning Cato Fire Department was dispatched to Route 34 North for a fully involved box truck with possible fireworks in the back.

Crews arrived quickly and worked to put the fire out.

Cayuga County Sheriff’s Department and the New York State police were on scene.

No injuries were reported.

TWO-CAR ACCIDENT AT THE INTERSECTION OF ROUTE 370 AND ROUTE 38 (July 7, 2024)

This evening Victory Fire Department, Conquest Fire Department, CIMVAC Ambulance and Fair Haven Ambulance were dispatched to the intersection of Route 370 and Route 38 for a two-car accident.

Crews arrived quickly and worked to clear the scene.

The New York State Police was on the scene.

Several people were transported to the hospital.

This is the second accident at this intersection today. The other accident was a two-car accident that occurred this morning.

PANCAKE BREAKFAST AT WHITFORD'S AIRPORT (July 7, 2024)

Today was a beautiful day to enjoy a pancake breakfast at Whitford's Airport.

The food was delicious and it's always a treat to watch the planes fly in or take off.
