Film maker/story teller - Tom Hern
Tom has been in the Aotearoa film and television for decades and has worked on recent shows and films such as Panthers, Shadow in the Cloud, and Dark Horse.
Tom has a deep empathy for people and a real touch for making sure that when communicating real stories and histories, the correct respect is given.

Tiorere Ngatai-Melbourne
Although still in her early 20's, Tiorere has created quite a name for herself in the Aotearoa film making scene. She has starred in Hunt for the Wilderpeople, Cousins, Kairakau season 2 and the upcoming biopic Whina. She has written and directed her own short film, E Rangi Ra. She is a strong exponent for the respectful treatment and representation of Maori on screen.

AMA with wāhine Māori film maker Maruia Jensen
Maruia was a teacher for over 20 years and decided she wanted make movies. She made her directorial debut with her short film ‘Disconnected’, which she also wrote. It was released last year to high praise. It won the ‘Ngā Whānaunga Pasifika section’ at the New Zealand International Film Festival.
