Needless to say, the recent weeks, month, year, you name it, has not been the best for any of us. I know I sure as hell have been feeling it. With mental health issues, old rona, family drama, deaths of loved ones, just to name a few, it can certainly be tough to keep your head above water.
But today, I'm writing about something positive and giving some simple advice to you all:
NEVER deny yourself the chance to do something you love.
If you had asked me a month or so ago if I would wander around Brighton in full Mando gear and occasionally take photos of myself, I would have thought you were insane. I was not remotely confident enough. But after some encouraging words from some friends, I did it today, and I for damn sure will do it again. And hopefully my camera won't die so quickly next time...
The reactions I got were amazing and the smiles my daft hobby put on people's faces cheered me right up and managed to take my mind off things. Whether they simply smiled, waved, or actually told me how much they loved the suit, it all brightened up my day.
So the moral is, make some time for you, do what you love, and you never know, it might not just be you who you cheer up along the way.
P.s. to the woman who, at a set of traffic lights, rolled down her window, leaned out and yelled "MANDO! THIS IS THE WAY!" at me, with the biggest smile I think I have ever seen, marry me. Best reaction I just didn't expect.
