CD copies of “When the Last Forest has Died” are on their way from attain Records in Toronto to the Old Mill in Lindsay.

We expect the CDs to arrive tomorrow or Monday but in the meantime, feast your eyes on the gorgeous art that graces the album’s cover. Moulderyawn fans may find the style familiar, as it was painted by .Aldersop himself, as was the cover of “From Whence the Woods”. It’s the sort of art that begs a physical purchase to properly absorb each detail. Fortunately for you, you’ll have the opportunity to do so August 31st when the CD goes on sale.

After the recent discovery of many files once thought to be lost, Moulderyawn has made available “Where Trees Grow Old”, a collection of unreleased demos dating from 2013 to 2016.

These demos predate the release of the band’s debut album “From Whence the Woods” and offer an insight into the way Moulderyawn’s sound crystallized from an idea into a full-length album.

The collection is available as a name-your-price download via Moulderyawn’s Bandcamp page. Perhaps an extremely limited run of CDs is in our future? It remains to be seen.

Real American folk inspired by life on the Ohio Valley River, “Rivermen” is Old Mill Productions’ first foray into Americana music.

The album will be released as a limited jewelcase CD and includes a gorgeous booklet filled with historical photos scanned from the artist’s father’s personal collection.

’s lead single “The Oak” off his sophomore album “Rivermen” is streaming now at both his Bandcamp and ours.

The cover art for the single was designed by . The artist had this to say about the cover: “I wanted to make something new, but based off of things that are “canonized.” I used parts of a variation on Flying Geese and smashed it together with Birds in the Air—both of which are pre-Civil War patterns.”

“Rivermen” will be released digitally and on CD August 31st via Old Mill Productions.

HARRY PEDIGO’s sophomore full-length “RIVERMEN” releases digitally and on CD August 6th.

Country is not what you hear on the radio. is country. Hear “The Oak”, the album’s lead single on the “Life’s Persistence” compilation August 6th, and on the artist and label Bandcamps August 9th.

““Rivermen” is a collection of songs inspired by life on the mighty Ohio River. It tells, among many, the stories of Donald Brookbank, who piloted one of the last authentic steamboats on the Ohio River, and Ben Pedigo, who worked and played music aboard the Julia Belle Swain. The album is rooted in string band music but draws heavily from the bluegrass and country music of the 1970s. These songs and stories are about real, hard-working people of a culture whose history has become something of a not-so-distant tall tale.”

The August 1st release of “When the Last Forest has Died” grows closer.

In the meantime, two singles from the album are currently streaming. Hear “Woodsman’s Walk” via ’s Bandcamp page and “Where Bluebells Knell and Where Flowers Would Waltz” via Moulderyawn/.aldersop’s Bandcamp page.

Both songs are different chapters of the same story that will be made whole on August 1st, with CDs to follow August 31st via Old Mill Productions.

Old Mill Productions is pleased to welcome the talented classic country artist to its roster.

Drawing both musical and aesthetic inspiration from black metal, Harry Pedigo may already be familiar to some of you, with his debut solo album “Dylan is Dead” having been released by Appalachian Noise Records in 2020. Now, Old Mill Productions is pleased to present “Rivermen” on August 31st.

Rivermen is a collection of songs inspired by life on the mighty Ohio River. It tells, among many, the stories of Donald Brookbank, who piloted one of the last authentic steamboats on the Ohio River, and Ben Pedigo, who worked and played music aboard the Julia Belle Swain. You can hear the album’s lead single “The Oak” on Old Mill Productions’ “Life’s Persistence” compilation August 6th. Harry Pedigo will be playing a charity show at the Gaslight Theatre in Georgetown Ohio on July 31st with all proceeds being split between the Christian Theatre for Children and the St. Michael String Project.

August is shaping up to be a very busy month at the Mill. On top of the possible (and probable) delivery of Tânahanner vinyl, we have a multitude of new artists and releases to be announced.

With the next Bandcamp Friday (August 6th) fast approaching, it is time to prepare for “Life’s Persistence”, Old Mill Productions’ upcoming charity compilation.

As some followers of the label know, earlier this year I lost my father to cancer, and the proceeds of this compilation will benefit two organizations that made his fight easier. The first is the Canadian Cancer Society and the second is the Ross Memorial Hospital Foundation. 100% of all sales of “Life’s Persistence” will be split evenly between these organizations.

This massive compilation features music from many friends of the label, including Falls of Rauros, Osi and the Jupiter, Mosaic, Tânahanner, Harry Pedigo, Revenant Marquis and many, many more. Each of these artists were extremely courteous in their support of this good cause.

“Life’s Persistence” will be available as a name-your-price download from the Old Mill Productions Bandcamp on the next Bandcamp Friday, August 6th.

“When the Last Forest has Died”, an ambitious collaborative album from Robes of Snow and Moulderyawn, is now available for digital preorder ahead of its August 1st release.

An ambitious concept album about nature magic, environmental destruction and the last forest on earth, “When the Last Forest has Died” is far more than a simple split. Both artists lend their talents to each other’s works, and with the album’s final song being an equal partnership between them both.
