This wonderful solo was written by Pulsa Musica founder Mark Reilly. The piece is a tribute to two amazing Scottish drummers/soldiers: Sergeant Jonny Stranix, Jr. of the iconic Scots Guard, and Colour Sergeant Callum Marr of the legendary Highlanders, 4th Battalion, the Royal Regiment of Scotland. Throughout this solo you will find blended elements of Scottish, Swiss, and American rudimental drumming styles woven together in an eight-bar format that honors classic musical structure and provides the performer a glimpse into these traditions. This video features Shane Nickels, snare drummer with the United States Army Old Guard Fife and Drum Corps.

Obnoxious 6/8, by David Oriente, is a wristbuster that combines fast rolls, flams, and drag patterns in which the speed of the double stroke suddenly changes in unexpected ways. Inspired by his time in the Hellcats, playing quicktime marches on the parade field for the Corps of Cadets, Obnoxious 6/8 takes a traditional form, and litters it with gracenotes and over-the-barline phrasing, all the while demanding to be played at West Point "duty tempo:" 116 beats per minute!
