The typical length of a measuring tape tape measure is 3-5 meters, however, there are tape measures with the ability to measure lengths up to 100 meters. Typically, tape measures with a shorter tape have a rewind mechanism with a return spring, and those with a longer tape have a handle. Roulettes with a measuring tape length of more than 10 m, as a rule, do not have an automatic winding mechanism; the winding of the measuring tape for such tape measures is carried out manually using a special handle. Actually, the large length of the measuring tape is the main reason for not using the automatic winding mechanism.
