Roofs are one of the important parts of a house. This structure has several purposes, but primarily it is for protection. A house without a roof is as useless as not building any house in the first place. There are many roofing styles in our societies today. Each roof has its unique name. This is exactly what this article will be focusing on today.

We will discuss the roof types, give their names and also show illustrative photos to aid understanding. Below are the roof types you should know.

1. Mansard Roof.

This roof is not the type of roof you see every day, they are not very common. You can recognise this roof by taking notes of the four slopes found on each of the either sides of the walls.

2. Pyramid roof.

These types of roofs are very common. Just like the name implies, they take the shape of a pyramid, hence the name. They are usually high. They sometimes attain heights almost half the height of the original building.

3. Hip roof.

Hip roofs are very similar to Pyramid roofs only that the Pyramid roof forms a single point at the top while the Hip roof has its four sides meet at a ridge or a flat spot.

4. Flat roof.

These roofs are very common too. They are not expensive to build, easier and safer to construct. It is one of the most accessible roofs because anyone can walk comfortably on these roofs.

6 Negative Effects Of Air Conditioners On Your Health
News Hub CreatorDec 31, 2021 9:38 AM

Air conditioners pass air through a cooling mechanism, unlike fans which only circulate the air to make a room seem cooler. While this mechanism makes an air conditioner more effective at cooling a room than the fan, it also has several negative effects on your health. Though you may not be able to avoid air conditioners entirely, it is best to use them minimally and ensure that they are cleaned regularly.

The negative effects of air conditioners on your health are explained below:

Headaches

People who work in buildings with central air-conditioning where the temperature is always kept very low tend to experience headaches regularly. They are also more prone to fatigue and catch colds, coughs or the flu easily.

Dry skin

Air conditioners suck the moisture out of the air, leading to dry and flaky skin. If you spend a lot of time in air-conditioned places, make sure you drink plenty of water and moisturise your skin daily.

Chronic illnesses

If you suffer from a chronic illness, it will only get exacerbated in the air conditioning. This is because air conditioners tend to aggravate symptoms like low blood pressure and arthritis. They also make pain harder to manage.

Lower tolerance for heat

People who spend a lot of time in air-conditioned rooms have a lower tolerance for heat since their bodies find it difficult to adjust to hotter temperatures after spending so long in lower temperatures. This intolerance can be inconvenient for people who live in warm climates especially since there will be times when they have to step out into the heat.

Eye problems

The dry air affects not only your skin but your eyes as well, causing itching, irritation and the tendency of contact lenses to stick to the eyes. Air conditioners can also aggravate eye problems like conjunctivitis and blepharitis.

Respiratory problems

Air conditioners are not cleaned very often, and so they tend to gather dust and mould, which they then circulate the room. This can not only aggravate allergies but also cause all sorts of respiratory problems. Air conditioners also circulate other airborne diseases, helping to spread them and infect several people simultaneously.

RIP|| Man killed his wife and himself after he found her pleasing another man
News Hub Creator.

There is nothing more heartbreaking than to have your partner cheat on you. We all want to get married so that we can live happily ever after but things do not always go as planned.

A couple has sadly left us due to cheating in relationships. It is allegedly that a man came home from when and he found his wife in bed with another man, it surely ended in tears. We can imagine the trauma the man must have gone through. It is painful to find your lover in such a compromising situation.

The man allegedly killed his wife in anger and later on killed himself. He did all of this in anger and probably without thinking. Cheating is not right but things should not

When they got married, they believed no one would come between them but another man came in so he decided they should die together.

6 Ways To Make Him Or Her Regret Ignoring You
News Hub Creator.

It's so painful when you love someone and show interest in them but they keep ignoring you. They feel you are not up to their standards or want to prove hard to get.

You send them messages; they refuse to reply. You give them a phone call; they refuse to respond. You look at yourself and wonder if you are attractive or not.

This could happen in a relationship with your partner when they are losing interest or with someone you just met and are trying to woo.

When it gets to a point where you finally realize that someone who is ignoring you does not deserve your love, then you will know the next step to take.

Stop making yourself available to them. Whenever they send you a message, you can go for days without replying. If they give you a call, act as though you are busy.

If it's a message that you have to respond to, make sure that your response is very brief. Give them enough space so that they can realize how bad you felt when they ignored you.

If they start showing signs of remorse, or they are interested in you, make sure you don't relate to them the same way you started the relationship.

Let them understand that things have changed, you have discovered your self-worth, and you are not desperate for a relationship.

Don’t let them have the impression that you are seeking their attention. Let them understand that you are not the kind of person that they can push around.

They may ask you for forgiveness or they may not, but don't ever forgive them easily. They will try to reconnect with you because they want to find out if you have not seen them as a bad person.

Try to get into another relationship. There's a high possibility that they will start feeling sorry and jealous when they see you with someone else.

There's no better way to make someone regret ignoring you than to concentrate on yourself, build your career, and make more money. Surround yourself with people that will support you.

When they see you making progress and becoming successful, they will start to feel sorry for the way they treated you. Try to change your appearance to something different from someone you once knew.

Start uploading pictures of your new look and new achievements on social media. Let them know you're living a good life without them.

3 Countries Where The Next Year is Not 2022
News Hub CreatorDec 30, 2021 7:23 PM

As Kenya and a many other countries are preparing to usher in the year 2022, a few other countries won’t be joining them in the celebrations. This is because these countries don’t use the modern Gregorian calendar.

In this article, the writer listed 3 such countries;

1 Ethiopia
Unlike the Gregorian calendar which has 12 months, the Ethiopian calendar has 13 months and lags behind the normal by 7 years. The first month in the Ethiopian calendar is September. Therefore, when many world countries will be ushering in 2022, Ethiopia will still be in the year 2014.

2 Thailand
Thailand uses the Buddhist calendar which is 543 years ahead of the normal calendar. Thailand’s new year is on April 13th.

3 Israel
They follow the Hebrew calendar. The current year in the Hebrew calendar is 5872. The Israelis will usher in the new year in May.

An 80-year-old man stabbed his wife to death after she promised to have s*x with him at Christmas day but changed her mind and refused after he took Vi**ra.

Italian man, Vito Cangini has been accused of killing his wife, Natalia Kyrychok, 61, because she refused to have s*x with him after he took a Vi**ra pill while at home in Fanano di Gradara, eastern Italy, on December 25.

Vi**ra pills, which are usually blue in colour, are taken orally to treat erectile dysfunction.

Kyrychok's refusal prompted a furious fight, during which Cangini, who was almost 20 years older than his wife, accused her of being attracted to her boss hence her refusal to have s*x with him.

Cangini then allegedly stabbed her to death, leaving his wife's bloodied body on the floor. After the crime he then went to bed.

The following morning, he reportedly ate breakfast, walked his dog and came back home as if nothing tragic had happened.

In the afternoon, he reportedly took his dog for another walk before he phoned the restaurant where his wife had worked as a chef for two years and told the owner he would never see her again.

'I know there was something going on between you two,' Cangini reportedly told the restaurant boss his wife worked for.

The restaurant owner then called the police, who visited the suspect's home.

When officer reached the home they found Ms Kyrychok's body with at least four stab wounds including one to the heart.

Cangini was taken into custody and the suspected murder weapon was found at the crime scene.

Use These 3 Key Steps To Manage Your Monthly Salary
News Hub Creator

One can never underestimate the relevance of money in today's society. We live in a world where virtually everything is carried out with the aid of money. For instance, If you must cook in a local setting, you would still need some money for fuel and condiments, to say the least.

There has been an ever increasing need to manage one's income. Inflation has led to the devaluation of the currency. What you could buy for a thousand naira may require double. High paying Jobs are hard to come by.

But regardless of the circumstances, it is your responsibility to control your spendings. One could be earning 200,000 naira and yet still go broke. While the person earning 50k could be doing well for himself. The difference? Management. Proper management.

This articles looks at 3 Key Steps to manage his income:

1. Attend To Your Needs First.
We need 3 basic things to survive– food, clothing and shelter. Hence, these 3 must be the first priority of our spendings. Suppose a person earns 50,000 naira. He must set aside first, his feeding for the month before any other needs. Let's say Food takes 20k, then he can build his other needs on the remainder.

2. Save Some.
There will be rainy days– emergencies that require spending. That's why one should save up. You could start by saving 10 percent of what you earn. Create a separate account for savings. As soon as you receive your monthly income, set aside the percentage into the account.

Specific savings is better than saving without a goal in mind. For example, you could start saving up a small amount for your rent before deadline. That way, it's easier to meet long term needs.

3. Monitor the Small Expenses.
This is everyone's struggle. Seemingly small things we spend money on may impact your salary more than you expected. For example, You may be surprised you spend more than necessary into airtime/internet data monthly.

The idea to managing ones salary is to put first things first and monitor how much goes into the second things.

Failure to apply this principle has resulted into living beyond ones means and plunging deep into debts.

How do you manage your salary? Let's talk.

News Hub CreatorDec 27, 2021 8:58 AM

Ownership of real property is to be supported by documentary evidence. There are five documents every property must-have. If you do not have any of them, there is a need to discuss them with a real estate consultant at your earliest convenience to avoid unexpected demolition of your properties. The documents are explained below:

1. PURCHASE RECEIPT: A purchase receipt is a written acknowledgement of the recipient of payment for a property. It may be required as evidence of ownership or acquisition of property in certain circumstances.

2. A REGISTERED SURVEY PLAN: A survey plan is a diagram that describes the margin and precise dimension of a parcel of land. Dog eats drunk herbalist's private parts in Calabar
The late herbalist’s house.
THE yelutide season turned tragic for a 60-year-old herbalist in Calabar, named Ani Ikoneto, who had his private parts bitten off and eaten by his dog.

The man, who lives at 12, Jebbs Street in Calabar South, according to neighbours, went on a drinking spree on Christmas Eve and returned home drunk.

“When he came back, we had gone to bed but some people were still outside.

“He went inside his room and slept off without shutting the door and because of too much drink, he excreted on himself.

“His dog that was outside smelt the poo and went inside to eat it.

“In the process, the dog ate his private parts thinking it was meat or part of the excreta,” Itoro, his neighbor, said.

According to him, the man raised the alarm, prompting neighbours to rush into his apartment and discovered what had happened.

“When we heard him scream, we thought hoodlums had attacked him.

“But when we got there, we saw that his private part was gone and his dog had blood on its mouth,” the neigbour said.

Itoro said the man could not be rushed to the hospital because of the excreta that covered his body; so had to be cleaned up first.

“By the time we finished cleaning him of the s**t, he was bleeding so much and on the way to the hospital he died,” she added.

The man was living alone as his daughters were married and lived away from him.

He was taken to his village, Ikoneto on Boxing Day for burial.
