The vortexes in Sedona are believed to be swirling centers of energy , emanating from the earth , that are conducive to healing, meditation , self-exploration , and peace. I don’t know if I believe in it but was always curious about it . But when I visited one of the vortexes , I did find one that definitely had an impact on me. It was a human vortex.
He goes by the name of Robert and for years has been playing the flute on top of a high rock ( in Boynton Canyon) for all to hear. A haunting beautiful sound that sets the mood for the vortex area and draws people in.
When he is not playing , he climbs down from his high perch up on the rock and speaks to the visiting people . In a gentle sincere way he talks of love , nature , peace , and how we all come from nature and belong together, as one. Love can bring us all together, he says. When we realize that we all come from the same place , that we are all one , that love is the common force that binds us all, we can have peace and happiness on earth and live in harmony with ourselves, with others , and with nature. He often completed his message by handing out heart shaped red rocks to all those he spoke with.
I felt his words and saw how real and genuine Robert was. I left Sedona knowing that I indeed was impacted by the vortex. A human vortex. Robert. A man spreading the idea of peace and love in a time when we all can use that message to help us feel better and understand who we are.
The world around us is full of its usual chaos but in this era it comes along with so many distractions , disturbances , an over abundance of technological stimuli , and constant disturbances which prevents us from feeling inner peace. However even a few minutes of calm , feeling the words and message from Robert , helped me put things into perspective and I walked away from the vortex feeling a little better about myself and a little more hopeful that we as a people can achieve peace within ourselves and with others.
