When I wrote this song, I was imagining what would happen if I died and what kind of words I would want to say to those I loved as consolation for their loss.

I know perhaps that this is a fairly dark thought to be having, but at this time in my life I was contemplating my purpose in life and sometimes that forces you to grapple with your own mortality. f

I ind this song to be extremely uplifting for me to play and sing AND remains a powerful reminder to be grateful for all of the people in my life who I care about so deeply.

We have a little over two weeks left on Intro to ‘SEVENPENCE’. We are fully funded so let’s see how far we can push this thing. Aim for the moon!

i7P is a crowdfunding campaign hosted on the platform called Kickstarter and it is designed around two offerings: an original song and a set of poetry. ALL pledge tiers will receive these things in the form of a digital download. Check out the page below if you are curious about the process.

Kickstarter is amazing because there are A LOT of independent artist, designers, inventors, and entrepreneurs who use this platform to fund their projects. It’s a great way to discover new things and to give to something you find to be inspiring or cool.

This Kickstarter is a part of a series of crowdfunding campaigns called SEVENPENCE, which will play out over the course of this next year.

This series starts off small with only a one dollar set campaign goal, which we have already met!

Because of Kickstarter’s all or nothing policy, this means that the offerings mentioned above WILL be made and shared with all who have pledged to this campaign.

We shall see about the next one, called ‘hexa’ which has a $10 dollar ask.

Two weeks into SEVENPENCE! And we are sitting tight at 15,500% funded. I’ve started to turn my attention less toward promoting this campaign and more on writing and producing the material I’ve promised to give those who pledge to this campaign.

I’ve landed on a song that I’ve never released before - so I’ve got to sit with it to see what new elements I can add and to make sure it sounds nice.

It’s been refreshing to write poetry, it’s always a peaceful experience and I can ONLY get into it if I’m feeling relaxed and open to a more gentle creative exploration.

has been such fun, because I’ve been able to challenge myself to actually post regularly (something I’ve been notoriously bad at with regard to promoting my creative work). This process has also been wonderful because having only a one dollar ask for an all or nothing campaign is actually a pretty low key thing, so there’s not that much pressure on my shoulders to do everything perfectly. You’ve got to start small and grow from there! A little goes a long way.

Maybe you’ve been seeing things about this Kickstarter and have wanted to participate in some way. No worries if you haven’t yet, we all are busy and it’s easy to keep scrolling even after you’ve seen something your interested in. Now is the time to check out what I’m doing with this seven-part series.

Take your time to build something that will last.

SEVENPENCE - which begins with i7P - has been in the works for over two years! And it will take about a year to move through all seven of these 30-day campaigns.

Over this time, I am hope to really dive into my creative process - the intention here is to make something that speaks, vibrantly.

If you haven’t had the chance, check out the main page for i7P on Kickstarter! We’ve already reached our campaign goal, which means that I will be publishing an original song and a set of poetry no matter what.

Almost a week into this thing and we've already blown the set goal away by A LOT. IT'S AT 15500%!

Not only is this campaign the beginning of a year-long journey through seven 30-day Kickstarters (including this one), but it also is a way for me to offer what I do to the MOST amount of people I can - at very little cost to both myself AND to those who may find themselves inspired to pledge to this campaign (or any of the following SIX).

Really, my goal here is to eventually publish MOST of the work that I have made so far. I'm sitting on ALBUMS of music and MULTIPLE BOOKS of poetry. The thing is.. I'm not connected to a label, nor am I in touch with a publishing company.

So.. I decided to take matters into my own hands! I am grateful that Kickstarter exists as a platform because it serves as an incredible tool to connect independent artists, entrepreneurs, inventors, and brands with those enthusiastic souls who wish to see their work come to life.

With i7P, I will be offering early exclusive access to digital downloads of an original song AND a set of poetry - all for ONLY A ONE DOLLAR ASK.

We are starting small with this first campaign of SEVENPENCE, and we will grow with each of the following. The next Kickstarter will launch in January and has a set campaign goal of only $10. I'm working on the graphics now and so the feel will be dramatically different than this one.

I can't wait to grow with you through this entire enterprise. It's going to be QUITE the experience, I think.

Three days until the launch of SEVENPENCE, which begins with . Intro to SEVENPENCE is the debut Kickstarter of a seven part series that will play out of this next year.

Our goal with this campaign is to raise $1 to publish an original song and a set of poetry. All pledgers will have the opportunity to add limited edition merch to their initial pledge - these offerings include cool shirts, mugs, vinyl stickers and more.

All of these things are designed by yours truly.
